As bzar mentioned (as well as in my signature), I am a licensed Barre Above instructor. I did the training in February 2020 (pre-Covid) with two other instructors who also teach barre at the rec center. It is an all day training, and covers a lot of ground. To me, Barre Above is a fusion of Lotte Berk-based barre (but working in neutral spine/no tuck, varying range of motion and including movements in all three planes of motion), Pilates, yoga, and traditional strength training.
After taking the training, you are licensed for life and don't have to pay anything to keep your license. You can subscribe to additional choreography for a monthly or yearly fee (first month free then $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year), but it's not required. (Unlike Zumba which forces you to pay over $40 a month to keep your license or fork out over $200 a year to take your Basic 1 training again.)
