Thanks everyone for all the great resources! I missed this thread earlier but posture is one of the things I've been trying to work on gradually over this year as I realized that especially working from home for a few years and carrying a lot of anxiety with going out in the world now to get things done has dropped my head and rounded my shoulders.

I like Pilates, though not necessarily the traditional matwork sequences of yore and nothing over 25 min, so have been doing a few of the gentle/standing Jessica Valant and Lauren at SeniorShape routines on YouTube and am surprised at how immediately I feel the effects in standing taller with looser shoulders.

Especially interested in the Alexander Technique video bec years ago I read a book about using it to overcome breathing problems in swimming, something I've struggled with since childhood.

I'm that his thread is still helping!

I ran across a meditation for posture by Michael Sealey. I haven't listened to the whole thing, but he has a great, soothing voice:

Self Hypnosis Relaxation for Improved Posture & Confidence

If you like it, you can download the mp3 for free.

Not sure if this one by Five Parks Yoga has been mentioned. I just did it and loved it.

This one is good also, not just for posture, but for neck humps, although it's all related. The stretches start at the 3:43 minute mark or thereabouts.

Here's another that's been on my list to try. I plan on doing it later this morning.

What a great thread!
Here’s an amazing posture tip from my favorite instructor, Lucy Wyndham-Read :

“ Lucy’s ice cube trick:

On a post-it note, simply write the word ‘ice cube’ and stick it on the corner of your computer. Each time you glance at it, imagine someone has dropped an ice cube down your back. You’ll instantly pull back your shoulders and lift up your chest, giving you perfect posture. “

Lucie, what a great tip! I'm going to do that right now. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much for the kind words! There’s something about the thought of an ice cube being dropped down one’s back that makes one straighten up their back instantly, isn’t there? I find this tip so useful.
So glad you like it!
