I'm another who struggles with energy, plus I have a sedentary job--author--and sedentary hobbies, aside from working out (that's one reason I love high-intensity workouts).

In addition to high quality sleep and a good diet with enough protein (YMMV), I've found that just getting more light activity all throughout my day is the best thing for me. Getting up and moving a little bit--ten minutes dashing about the house throwing laundry in, doing the dishes, running up and down the stairs a few times, running the dogs in and out--works wonders for boosting my energy. I've also tentatively started using a standing desk (since I don't like to stand), and what they say really is true: I *do* feel less tired/sleepy on days I work there!

Stress, though... wow, will that ever sap you dry. Zonk....

Good luck! Hope you find what works for you! It's awful being tired all the time.

Five minutes of any kind of movement works for me.

I have certain times of the day that I am super tired, Sue. Mid afternoon is a huge crash time for me and right after supper. If I can do a few workouts sprinkled through the day...walking the dog, doing a Qi Gong or CS episode...I seem to perk up a bit.

I'm toying around with doing Qi Gong in the morning to get moving...maybe even just 7 Minutes of Magic.

I get it...I get terribly exhausted and sore doing intense workouts.

Just another CS/Lee Holden Qi Gong/walking fan.

A bit of health bouncing first thing in the morning gets me going, then I do several shorter workouts across the day. (Usually qi gong at night, CS in the morning.)

I really do like the constant gentle movements of qi gong. I seem to prefer it to yoga, at least for now.
