There is no doubt about this statement! Exercise is a small component of our total daily energy expenditure. Base metabolism and non-exercise activity (any non-exercise daily movement) are both a *substantially* larger contribution.

I try to do a bit of everything. I can't stop lifting heavier weights due to some bone loss. I have added ballet, barre and bellydance type workouts in recent years.

Most of these fusion workouts are "weight bearing" but not really "weight loading." If you don't weigh that much to start with, I have doubts as to whether these types can protect bones.

Yes, rest days are really important!

Oops! Thanks for reminding me about bone loss.

I think I will include some weight training each week after all. Maybe an upper day and a lower day.
