Hi Everyone,

My motivation is really lagging...I'm not sure why! But, this morning I did:

Ellen - Align and Shine which is her new workout for this month. 20 min - stretch/bodyweight strength - soothing, but like most of Ellen's workouts it ends up being a little sneaky as you do feel pleasantly worked at the end.

I am going to aim to get something else in later today.

I am feeling more like I should take this job - I have been in my current department for 4 years and I have been trying to get out for about that long. I think people tend to want to stay in their comfort zone, even if it is not always the best place for them. I do like my current boss, but in thinking about the workload and demands, etc. I do want to have a better work-life balance. And, while I don't expect this other job to be easy, I think there will be less "red tape" to get stuff done and I think it will be a more balanced workload. I have been putting in so many extra hours it is ridiculous, working a day shift and then a 2nd shift until 9 or 10 p.m. I don't think that is sustainable and is probably the cause of a lot of my lack of motivation and burn out. Having to work like that consistently is really indicative that something is wrong, yet in my current department that type of extra work is looked upon as a positive thing...which tells you something about the culture.

Anyway - a rant for a Monday!

Still pleased w/ my contractor, called me to let me know what was happening today and when. It is so refreshing, we used another contractor years ago who did excellent work but you never knew when he was coming, if he was coming, etc. It was frustrating and only manageable b/c most of what he was doing for us did not involve him coming in the house (he was building a sunroom).

Take care!

Good morning!!

Yesterday:

35 minute outdoor walk

I kind of fell off the wagon again for a few days. Well I think I haven't fully got back on yet but I'll keep plugging along.

PAT, some lovely interesting walks for you.
It's nice you had time with your DS.

DONNA, oh the transfer job sounds promising with less red tape. Good luck with making the best decision for your needs.

DIANE, that's so scary about the rising covid cases and especially the infant. It's tough making decisions about attending events. But safely and feeling comfortable is the most important thing. My sister still won't go into any stores or restaurants. She's just not comfortable so she doesn't do it.

Hi PAM!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Good morning everyone!

I don’t know what happened to yesterday! We are expecting some massive thunderstorms and possible tornado warnings between 2 and 5 today. We have a safe area in the basement and I’ve already packed up the necessities if needed (meds, paperwork, etc.). My main concern are my robins – the babies are beginning to feather and mamacita and papacito are constantly circling when not feeding them. I cannot wait until they fly off! They are tucked under the front porch, high up, so I think they’ll be safe during the storm. My husband keeps shaking his head that I’m more concerned for them than us!

Sunday’s Workouts:
Pushups
Group Power Spring 09 (like Body Pump)
Tamilee’s challenge – 4 sets of 10: wall squats, side delt lifts, rear delt lifts, knee tucks
Bad Yogi – short Yoga for Tight Hips
6.77 mile bike ride – flat. Felt good to get out despite the humidity.

Today’s Workouts:
Jenny Ford Step Workout
Tamilee’s challenge – 3 sets of 10: Tricep Dips
Yoga for Sciatica with Lesley
9.27 mile bike ride while DH ran
PM: Cathe's Ab Circuits - Pilates Based Abs

Pat: I’ve never gone down to the Thames but passed many times on our way to the casinos for concerts! Such a beautiful area. I have no problem eating any of my concert tickets. I heard from my neighbor today and he’s feeling pretty sick. He’s vaccinated and double boosted so this makes me even more determined to play it safe.

Donna: Sounds like you were meant to be at that wedding and speak to that co-worker! For me, at the end of my career, I just didn’t want to deal with any BS or aggravation, which is why I quit my last corporate job and started a pet sitting business. All in all, it turned out well. We have to put ourselves first. I remember once my husband was very sad after leaving a very loved job in San Diego (Wells Fargo Mortgage Division). They were moving the operation up to San Francisco and it’s just too expensive up there. So, he took his severance but it really saddened him. I told him you cannot love something that cannot love you back – it’s business, it’s corporations, money is their bottom line and employees are just collateral damage. So, Donna, put yourself and your needs first!

Summer Breeze: Yes, the uptick is truly scary. I heard from my neighbor this morning and he said he’s really sick. It’s his third time with Covid – fully vaxxed, double boosted. I haven’t been to a restaurant since 2020 – other than one time sitting outside. I’m determined to do everything I can to not get this virus. I don’t blame your sister one bit!

That’s all she wrote! I hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning! What a glorious day it was! I did:

~ Lee Holden 30 Day Challenge - Day 16
~ Walk around neighborhood
~ Winsor 20 Minute Workout
~ 6,130 steps

Good luck with your decision Donna. Isn't it weird how different departments can have a whole different culture? Sometimes it only takes on or two "personalities."

Summer Breeze, you'll hop back on that wagon - I'm sure of it!

Diane, did you get severe storms? Northwest CT was on tornado watch last night. Aww, the robin babies make a squawk, I'm sure. They'll be gone soon. Good workouts for you!

Good morning to Pam.

Hi everyone!

Today’s workout:
Pushups
Orangetheory’s Lower Body Strength #1
Tamilee’s Challenge – 3 sets of 10 chest flys
Yoga for Equestrians – Kassandra
Afternoon – 6 mile SUPER WINDY bike ride in the park – it was a challenge!

Pat: Oh man – we dodged a bullet. We had some wind and thunderstorms but nothing insane. And, thankfully, no tornado watch or warning. Phew…. The robin babies – if they do make a squawk, we don’t hear them because they are in the front of the house and most of our living is in the back of the house. Today I stood up on the bench to try to see the babies in their nest and mamacita and papacito freaked out! Screaming at me from my neighbor’s roof. I quickly got down and apologized! And we initially thought there were only two babies but there are three! They are all feathering so it won't be long!

Waves to Donna, Summer Breeze and Pam! See everyone tomorrow!

Hi Everyone,

We had a meeting at work this morning - that was in person - pretty much a waste of time to drive in for a 60 min meeting...but, whatever.... so I didn't get my workout in this morning since I'm so off my game of working out and then leaving the house for work, LOL!

I just did an Ellen Barrett now - before my 2nd shift starts - I did her Slim Sculpt - an oldie but a goodie. I will also likely take my Golden for an evening walk.

Diane -you are right - we have to do what is best for us.

Hope everyone has a good evening!

Good morning!

Yesterday:

40 minute outdoor walk
push-ups, planks

It was very windy yesterday but a lovely day overall. Today looks to be another good one so I hope to get out there soon.

DD was scheduled to fly in from Florida Monday afternoon during that crazy storm they were predicting. Thankfully she got in before it hit. And it turned out not to be as apocalyptic as they predicted after all. They are so dramatic with the weather. I know they need to warn people but I think they just love the drama of it all

PAT, a fabulous lunch walk sounds perfect.

DONNA, good for you getting in some movement through all the disruptions going on.

DIANE, I imagine that bike ride in the wind was a double workout. I can picture you scrambling down from that nest when mama and papa screamed at you.

Waves to PAM.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Hi everyone!

Beautiful day today so we took full advantage of it. I sat outside with my friend’s dog, Angel – she loves the nice weather as much as I do!

Today’s Workout:
Step and Weights – Jenny Ford
Tamilee’s Challenge – 3 sets/10 Bird Dogs
Yoga for Sciatica with Lesley Fightmaster
Afternoon: 9.25 mile bike ride.

Donna: How long have you been in this position? It seems to me that a change would be really good for you. For me, change always revitalizes me.

Summer Breeze: Yep, I got away from the nest as quickly as I could – I’ve watched Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds” far too many times!

Waves to Pat and Pam! Hope everyone is having a great hump day!

Good morning everyone! It's a drizzly, cool day and I'm soaking it up before the first heat waves moves in. It could reach 100 deg. with the heat index tomorrow. Yesterday featured:

~ Lee Holden 30 Day Challenge - Day 18
~ LWR Feel Amazing Challenge W2D3
~ 5,213 steps

Also a fabulous massage.

Diane - Leslie Fightmaster is a fun name.

Summer Breeze, glad your DD got home safe. Good job on your body weight training.

Donna, what a waste of gas to have to drive in for a meeting. Roll Eyes!

Waves to Pam!
