Fall is coming...and no workouts appeal to me

I'm hoping this is just a phase, but I'm starting to get worried.

Normally, I work out to a system or two during the winter. In spring, summer and early fall, I tend to work out more outside - jogging, hiking, push mowing and free weights in the garage. That's what I've done this year and it's been pretty good. Now the weather is just starting to get cooler - I have maybe another month of outside workouts - and I'm starting to look around for my inside fall workouts. I'm coming up entirely empty.

Of course, I'm talking about more "manly" workouts. If they involve a lot of dancing and such, they're not for me.

I've done CLX.
I've done P90X.
I don't think I'm up for another 90 days of either.

I've done 30 days of Insanity. Yuck. No results, either.
I've done STS Meso 1. Good workout, but I don't like Cathe much.
I've done the X-Factor. Once was enough.

I've tried Turbo Fire. Too frantic, hurt my back. Wouldn't spend another $120 acquiring it either.
I've tried kettlebells. I have RKS and Skogg, but I hurt my back last fall doing them. Not sure if I want to try those again.
I've tried Peak Fit Challenge. Hated it.

I've looked at P90X2. Didn't like what I saw.
I've looked at Body Beast. Not sure if I could take 30 days (never mind 90) of the host preening and talking about being "the Beast".
I've looked at RushFit. I'll pass.
I've looked at the fairly recent MMA one (forgot what it's called). Don't need to sit through hour-long informercials during each workout.

I know, I sound picky as hell. I'm thinking of making a Les Mills rotation, but that's about all I can come up with. Has anything good (for a guy) been released this summer? Or do I just have the workout blues? I just don't want to fall off the workout wagon, but I'm a bit stumped right now.

What is about Cathe you didn't like? Is there anyway you can get past what ever it is you don't like, since you liked STS Meso 1. Have you tried STS Meso 2? I loved STS and what it did for me. I wasn't crazy about the upper body workouts in Meso 3, since it went so slow and its hard for me to lift that heavy at home without a spotter.

How about DeltaFit? I love BJ Gaddour, and the workouts are short.

I'm enjoying the 6 week Deltafit rotation I am doing right now. I shortened it to only 2 weeks per phase instead of 3 to fit into the training schedule I have for my final race of the season (Nipmuck Marathon). Workouts are good and short enough to do without a dread factor, even on days I don't feel like working out.

After that I intended to do a 6 week Body Beast rotation. If you want, we could keep each other accountable....

Delta Fit might be a good one, although BJ is pretty goofy sometimes. Have you looked at Horizontal Conditioning at all? The results are pretty amazing for the core and arms and it's mostly body weight stuff.

I just picked up Supreme 90 at Big 5 Sporting Goods for $10- it looks like a short version of P90x on preview & has gotten great reviews here & at Collage Video. Tom Holland is the host.

I was going to suggest DeltaFit as well. BJ is definitely different, and I can see that some may find him TOO different for their tastes. Personally, I find him to be entertaining and I like the length of each workout.

As an aside, dironstarr, I thought it was 4 weeks per phase according to the original program? Did I do an extra week of Phase 1?

I was going to say Deltafit as well. I've only done a few of them but so far so good! I also really like JNL Fusion, and I'm shocked- but my 15 year old son loves them too! He usually just wants to lift at the gym. I have a few of the horizontal conditioning 101's and really want to do them but I've been dealing with some shoulder issues all summer. Every time I do one it hurts my shoulders . So sad.

Hadn't heard of DeltaFit. This one? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9iH1JaSp70A

That dude is goofy!

I hadn't heard of JNL either. Looks interesting...she's certainly easy to look at. I'll have to find the thread on it and see what folks are saying. It's costly at $120.

This is why I love VF...two new systems to look at.

You evil enablers.

As for the other questions:

1. I have S90. I do one or two of the disks occasionally. I like Tom Holland - I still do his Total Body Workout - but S90 as a system doesn't do it for me. Frankly, I'd rather Tom do the workouts than the kids they have doing it.

2. What is it about Cathe I don't like? Her complete lack of personality. I think if she cracked a real smile (not the fake one she paints on), her face would break. She's in tremendous shape, but she's entirely uninspiring. Watching her is like watching paint dry.

I have been enjoying Les Mills Body Pump--fun, no dread. Don't know if you would like it tho.

I'm right with ya. I have a number of the "real" BodyPump disks - not the BeachBody set - and I worked out to one this morning. Yeah, I like those. The only problem I have with Pump is that no matter the disk, it's essentially the *exact* same workout. There's not much variety in any of the disks I have.
