Yes.
A: I am not 100% sure that the creator is the one posting the video thus they may not be the one getting the ad revenue B: my internet SUCKS and sometimes streaming is not an option. To many times those of us in rural areas get shafted on internet so I prefer having non-streaming options

Yes. DVDs I can rip seem less reliable on my dvd player. Stuff like chapters and menus can really be awkward.
At least a commercially produced dvd will probably play on at least one of my players. Plus, I know that at some point the people who created it got paid something. People upload stuff to Youtube they shouldn't, and I do wonder what might be lurking there.
