Question Do you still buy workout DVDs if...

... the full routine is on YouTube for free??

Do you still feel the need to own a copy of that particular workout in your collection? Just curious!

yes. recent purchases:

Gin Miller: Step Reebok The Video DVD
Denise Austin: Totally Firm DVD

sometimes videos are removed from youtube. i think that's the driving concern.

AsSweetAsSugar - which ones have you purchased?

Yes for me, too! I bought Jiggle Free Arms within the last couple of months because Firm workouts are often removed from YT.

I've noticed a few workouts I enjoyed were removed from YT and I really want the workouts on DVD now. Chalene Johnson's Turbo Jam workouts using the stability ball were removed. I'm sure there are others but those are the workouts that stand out to me right now.

Yes.
A: I am not 100% sure that the creator is the one posting the video thus they may not be the one getting the ad revenue
B: my internet SUCKS and sometimes streaming is not an option. To many times those of us in rural areas get shafted on internet so I prefer having non-streaming options

Yes.. because
  • My interwebs stinks (I'm not even rural !)
  • The disappearing law- if I want to see it again, it disappears,
  • The intrusive YouTube ads, and
  • Is a video I would miss if I couldn't do it again

Yes. DVDs I can rip seem less reliable on my dvd player. Stuff like chapters and menus can really be awkward.

At least a commercially produced dvd will probably play on at least one of my players. Plus, I know that at some point the people who created it got paid something. People upload stuff to Youtube they shouldn't, and I do wonder what might be lurking there.
