I agree not to workout. With a tummy flu I must wonder where a person would find energy to do a workout.

I always listen to my body, which always steers me in the right direction. I am generally very motivated and work out every day, but there are days that I just don't have it in me, then I take a break. You don't want to get any sicker than you are. Having the stomach flu is rough, so working out and any movement would do me in. No one should ever feel guilty about not working out when they are sick. Your workouts will be there when you are better and you will be all refreshed and ready to go.

I cannot imagine exercising with the stomach flu. I hope you feel better soon.

I'd say not to do it!

Go for a walk if you must, but that would be my limit.

I'm just coming off a two week head cold and reluctantly held off much exercise. Still not rebounding again though.

I don't think guilt should ever be a motivation to exercise, sick or not.

If you are feeling an itch to move, I'd say go for a short walk or just do some stretches. I know it's frustrating if you're trying to keep up a good habit, but if you have the stomach flu... oh dear... a workout doesn't sound like a good idea! I hope you feel better...

Nope, you really should not workout with a stomach flu. You will be better soon enough, rest up, drink lots of fluids, and you will be back to workouts in no time.

I would say that it depends on the stomach flu and the workout.
I had a nagging belly ache for a whole week. When I ate a little bit, I'd feel ok for a while and then it would hit me again.
I didn't feel properly sick and had none of the common symptoms of a stomach flu, so I kept on doing my usual stuff but rested as much as I could in between. I did one workout and it only made me feel worse, so I put off working out until I was feeling better again.
I would suggest the same as everyone else: listen to your body and let it recover. If you feel like you want to move, go for a walk but don't make yourself do anything.

No, because your immune system is already compromised, and exercising taxes your system even further. Rest is the best medicine. The workouts will be there when you've recovered.

Rest and recovery are as important to fitness as exercise and nutrition. Take it easy. Don't feel guilty; you're doing something healthy.

Well, if you ever wanted to experience a "puke in the bucket" workout, go for it.

Seriously, it's pretty rare when I don't workout, but the thought of working out when I have the stomach flu literally makes me queasy. I honestly wouldn't even think of working out, let alone feel guilty that I couldn't/didn't work out.
