T2B I'm anxious to hear about the Transform dvds. They sounded very good, like a sporty Ellen Barrett.

Sunday is my stretch/yoga day so I plan to do one of Transform workouts on Sunday! I’ll report back.

Sport 04

I did the full workout; felt worked and engaged. It didn’t feel crazy hard while I was in the midst of the workout but when I was done, my first thought was, “you got your butt kicked a little”. It is described as metabolic resistance training, and I agree. I liked the pace as well which was not frantic and allowed me to go lower, with better form. I even used a 8 inch step and that is something I don’t do when doing cardio on the step but I felt the pace was perfect for the higher step. This has it all - agility, balance, sculpting, impact/intervals, core, box training. As far as the music, it didn’t overpower the leads, perfectly balanced, kind of faded into the background as I was doing the workout, until I heard the Salt & Pepa song - Push It! I’m sure I’ll pay closer attention to the music after doing this a time or two. I liked the leads and the set.

The perfect amount of impact, not too much, and controlled. There are some squat jumps, split lunges, some burpees done on and off the step, squat thrusts and some mountain climbers, speed skates. They are interspersed throughout the workout so you are not doing them all at once, nor at a really fast pace.

ETA

Quick overview:
1. warm up - 2/2 squat with overhead reach, plank squats on the floor to reverse down dogs
2. Shakeout - done on the step. Split squats, lunges
3. Activate - light weights, lateral lunges, curtsy lunges, deadlifts, single leg deadlifts with upright rows, overhead presses
4. Intervals - uses step, squat jumps, lateral leaps over the step, reverse lunges power knees
5. Agility - squat, toe taps, jump rope, squat tag w/dbl hop, speed skate, burpee, single leg burpees
6. Core mobility - 4 point planks, jumping mountain climbers, torso rotations
7. Endurance - uses step - jog on/off step, split lunge, thruster + mountain climbers
8. Sculpt - light weights, front lunges & lateral raises, dead/flyes
9. Abs & Back - staggered crunch, iso crunch w/bicycle, bridge roll ups
19. Stretch

Thanks so much for sharing this info bubbles! I ordered 5 Sport and and 4 Transform DVDs. The discount code did not work in the initial Promo Code box, but DID work on the final checkout page. I got the 9 DVDs for $81.20 including the expedited S&H, which was $13.70 to Montana.

Transform 15 - Liked it so much that when done, I ordered the 2 other Transforms and another Sport. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the additional 25% off this time but still got the workouts at a great price.

When it comes to yoga/stretch, I prefer flowy movements, nothing too hard because I’m not flexible and I don’t like holding poses for a long time. Plus my attention span sucks when it comes to yoga.

What I liked about this was the pacing, not too fast or slow, it was dynamic and no pose was held too long. The music was great too compared to the typical yoga workouts that I’ve attempted in the past, so I stayed engaged and wanting to continue.

One of the leads is pregnant and is doing modifications for some of the poses which was very helpful to me since I’m not flexible and it was great to see modifications that I didn’t have to come up with. Ha!

Based on the 2 workouts that I’ve done so far, I think the clips provide a great preview of what the workouts are really like.

Quick overview, these are just some of the poses:
1. Mindful - starts out in a seated pose, Gather the Chi, then standing, slow dive for pearls, reverse lunges, gathering the chi.
2. Salutations - mtn pose, plank to chaturanga, up dog/down dog, 3 leg dog, warrior. The plank to chaturanga to down dogs are the most challenging moves for me because of my lack of flexibility and I hate when these just go on and on. I felt like this was the perfect amount for my attention span. This track is 7:06 and there was a lot of variety that kept me from tapping out.
3. Energy 1 - Wide chair, iso squats with L/R back taps, lunge front back, L/R slide, slide with a jump
4. Core1 - Crunch, tricycle, roll to cobra/supine
5. Balance -mtn pose, shifting weight to R/L foot, extensions, staff pose to warrior III ( lots of wobbling for me)
6. Energy 2 - mtn pose, pulse chair, curtsy lunges w/hands heart center, pulsing lunge to squat, reverse lunges
7. Core 2 - forward fold to plank, walking planks, plank taps
8. Release - Child’s pose, down dog, dragonfly twist, warrior, slow star to wide squat
9. Restore - leg extensions, cow face pose, pigeon, savassanah, namaste

I hope you and Jules like the workouts! I’m always looking to buy up workout DVDs so I’m happy that bubbles posted about these as they were not even on my radar!
