April 2022 Add 'em up Goals & Habits Challenge~All welcome!

Come join us in setting and achieving goals to promote your overall wellness! We are a friendly and welcoming group who love to chat when we have time, but please also feel free to join us if you want to just focus on your goals. No pressure here to address everyone; share as little or as much as you want!

We have been doing this challenge for many years now. While it is not strictly about fitness goals, we agree that our daily habits work together with our fitness goals to make us happier and more balanced, so we combine them in this challenge. Feel free to join us! You can tailor it to your schedule if you need to take a week off for vacation or only count so many days. Whatever works for you!

Premise: Choose your goals for the month. Every time you complete a goal you get a point. Multiply your number of daily goals by the number of days in the month. This is your max total points. If you choose, reward yourself for reaching a certain percentage of your max possible (I use 90% for my personal goal), multiply by your max to get your total goal points. I also give myself extra credit options.

**Take this challenge however you wish. I used to total my points all the time but have fallen away from that and now just track my goals. There really are no rules, your challenge is your own, we're just here for support and to help each other with accountability. We would love to have you join us!

I worked out yesterday and today. Took an outdoor walk yesterday and then today was Jessica Smith’s last Walk and Talk and Senior Shape 10 minute upper arm workout. Unfortunately it irritated my tooth badly. It was getting better until yesterday. I can’t chew on it or my other teeth, or irritate it with exercise. Unfortunately, it seems to always be irritated.

I saw a TMJ specialist yesterday and was fitted for a mouth guard. She thinks my nervous system is on overload and once it calms down the tooth will heal. She told me to exercise to calm my nervous system. Boy was that bad advice. She could be right about the tooth eventually healing, but she was wrong about other things, and brusque and unprofessional. I feel like I wasted a lot of money. Oh well, at least I’ll have my mouth guards. I posted more about it in the Jessica Smith check in if anyone is interested.

Katie, the TKJ specialist did not mention the tongue tip you told me. Thanks, it’s been helpful.

Amazingly, I made my goals in March. I really had no idea how the points would add up. We are expecting April showers tonight! Our area is so dry, we would very much welcome it.

I watched another great tutorial on youtube with Guerillazenfitness, also on the hips. Both Zen and Upright Health are focusing on hips right now and both very good. Who knew they could be covered in so many different ways?! Everybody else I like on youtube is very quiet right now. Today was a terrific walk along with other exercises.

Sherry, soo disappointing that the TMJ specialist wasn't very professional. I hope the mouth guards are helpful and I'm glad the tongue tip has been of help.

Waves to Vannie and MT!

Katie, Congrats on making your March goals! We have gotten a lot of rain, too.

Sherry, I am so sorry about the specialist. I was really hoping she was the one with all of the answers.

I know nothing worth telling these days. I'm just hanging in until school is out.

Hugs, Vannie!
