I got an ultra cheapo mirror from Target and have it propped on the floor.

I like being able to turn it on edge so I can observe my form with floor work.

As others have said, it's great for helping you realize what you're really doing.

Another bonus is that I'd never had a long thin mirror before and have occasionally found it handy to check how I look from head to foot.

Don't go out much these days, but it still is a nice reminder to try and keep myself looking good for my own sake.

I love my mirrors! I bought four of the cheap $5 mirrors from Walmart and mounted them on one of my walls. As others have said, they are great to have to check your form.. and admire how awesome you are to be loving your body with movement!

I didn't think about propping it on the floor! I could store it behind the door, then prop it up where I need it. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks for all the great replies! You guys had me convinced to take it and then hubby the realist pointed out that anywhere I could actually put it I won't really be able to see myself well in it anyway. Hmm. I need to go down and try to envision it before I go to her house tmrw!

Some other positive points about mirrors in workout space:
- makes the space feel bigger
- reflects colors/decor from the other side of the space (it looks like I have twice as many plants in the room!)
- I find myself working out more exuberantly! I like seeing myself looking energized - it's like it keeps me from just "going through the motions."
- plus as many have said, invaluable for checking form!

Yes, absolutely get the mirror! Checking your form is both useful and motivational. I'm lucky enough to have a mirrored wall, and mirrored closets on the opposite side.

I ended up passing on the mirror bc hubby was right. I looked all around my space and bc I have so much equipment/machines there is no place to put a 5'x3' mirror that it could actually be usable for my purposes. I may regret it but it just didn't seem doable. But bc of everyone's great comments I will be considering buying smaller mirrors if it seems i can make them work. Thanks again for all the great feedback!
