I thoroughly enjoyed reading 84, Charing Cross Road by Helene Hanff. I don't remember who it was in this forum that recommended that book, but thank you for the recommendation!

I just finished Past Tense by Lee Child (Jack Reacher Series, Book 23) and I liked it a lot. I liked it more than Echo Burning.

I read these books and they were just "fair":

Born to Run by Christopher McDougall

What Can I Do? by Jane Fonda My Path from Climate Despair to Action

I got a few chapters into 12 Rules for Life by Jordan B. Peterson but I couldn't get into it and stopped reading it.

I read this a while ago and liked it a lot. Just finished The Choice: Embrace the Possible, by Edith Eger and thought it was excellent. I started reading The F*ck It Diet: Eating Should Be Easy but might not finish it since I'm not enjoying it and I have way too many books that I want to read.

84 Charing Cross Road was made into a really good movie, too. Definitely worth a watch. (Anthony Hopkins and Anne Bancroft, IIRC)

As for my books, I've been listening to Barchester Towers by Anthony Trollope.

I just saved but have not listened to an episode from the “Terrible, Thanks of Asking” podcast with an interview with Edith Eger. The episode is called “The Gift”

I just finished The Empire of Dreams by Rae Carson and really enjoyed it. I especially enjoyed the main character, Red.

I'm almost done with Almost Sisters by Joshilyn Jackson. In the end, I was drawn into the story and characters. The book has about the right amount of snark for me.

I just finished Hour Game by David Baldacci, the second book in his King & Maxwell series. His thrillers are pretty fantastical, but I do enjoy them.

I’m on a suspense thriller kick these days. I recently read two by Shari Lapena, An Unwanted Guest & Someone We Know. I also just finished The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides. I really enjoyed all three. Right now I’m listening to Behind Closed Doors by B A Paris, another favourite author and its keeping me on the edge of my seat! I hope to finish it today.

i just finished Lies We Bury by Elle Marr. It was a twisty turny murder mystery / psych thriller about women held captive in a basement and their lives after escaping. It was a page turner.

An off the beaten path historical fiction was West With Giraffes by Lynda Rutledge. A cargo ship with two giraffes bound for the San Diego Zoo is wrecked in the Hurricane of '38 in NYC. A zoo employee and a boy who escaped the Dust Bowl trek west with two giraffes in a rickety truck. It chronicles the nail biting adventures they have along the ramshackle American roads during that period.

The Shadow Box by Luanne Rice is another mystery / psych thriller that I couldn't put down. I love that she sets books where I live.

Sci fi fans, I really enjoyed Obscura by Joe Hart.

And, not intending to interject politics, just mention the book, but I finished Obama's A Promised Land this week. Not something I would normally choose, but DH gave it to me for a Christmas present. I started it at Christmas. I could only focus on one event at a time and put it aside for something more entertaining. I hope he will stick with Stephen King next year, LOL.
