I have never followed a rotation. I have always just picked whatever workout I'm in the mood for that day. As Bubbles noted, for me that works out to be step about 90% of the time! I do try to make sure I fit in at least one, preferably two, strength workouts a week.
Like Mikey, this has worked well for me for almost 30 years, so I figure why mess with it. It may not be the "ideal" fitness routine, and I know I should do more strength and flexibility training, but I still love working out after all these years and almost always look forward to it.

I must have a rotation planned in advance. I have too many choices to leave it to chance because I'll get caught up second guessing what to do. l would spend more time doing nothing but thinking. A rotation seals my commitment on what I will do. I feel more confident to follow through with it and calmer knowing it's settled.

I like your schedule and done one similar and it felt great.
As far as what I do, I decide what I want to focus on for the next 2-4 weeks. Sometimes it's a trainer but usually it's an aspect of fitness. Then I make up a general schedule. Some of my favorite schedules started from another rotation that I modified to suit me and my collection inventory. Then I shop my DVDs that can fit the daily schedule and line them up. That allows me to pick within the choices for each day to have some freedom. There are definitely times when a VFer will mention a workout and I'll realize it fits my focus and I'll do it instead. I don't think I have ever strictly followed a rotation. I have a hard time trying out all the workouts in a set no matter how much I love sets!

I used to do a very general rotation, basically alternating strength and cardio, or higher intensity with lower. Now I just like to have an idea of what I'll do, but sometimes I wake up a little stiff or achy and need to change the plan. Or the weather may inspire me to get out - or stay in - so I don't hold myself to anything.
