Madonna

I would love to know who Madonna was training with in 2006, prior to working with Tracy Anderson. I hate to say this b/c I have already seen results in less than 2-3 weeks of using Tracy's DVD's consistently, but after doing a little internet digging I think Madonna's bod looked best before she started working with Tracy.
Check it out:

and...

She was almost 50 during this time... unreal! From what I read online, Gwyneth didn't even meet Tracy until 2006 and it took her a little time to convince Madonna to come around to the method.

Now, here she is in 2008 after training with Tracy for awhile. I think she looks kinds sick and her arms look overtrained:

Now this is a recent pic & she obviously isn't working with Tracy anymore... I think she looks better/healthier!!

I'm not positive so don't quote me but I thought I read some where, in a fitness magazine, she was doing some Barre3.

You are right! Here's the link.

I do like her body better post-TA.

"Much like the Tracy Anderson Method, the barre3 workout promises clients a long, lean, and feminine physique. Madonna loves it so much that she's been flying Sadie into New York from Portland. The pair has been working out in Mikhail Baryshnikov's Upper West Side studio."

Here's a review of the Barre3 method.

I love Madonna! From what I remember, she was was heavily into yoga prior to TA. I have some pics somewhere from that time with her leg behind her head. She was doing upwards of 2 hours of yoga a day, IIRC. I know she worked with both James D'Silva and Ravi and Ana for a time.

I'd always heard she practiced ashtanga:

Except perhaps for the occasional veer to Bikram:

But I'm not a fan and so don't pay particularly close attention.

Apparently Pat Manocchia has been Madonna's trainer for almost a decade and is credited for Madonna's great shape.

He also has a few books out

She does look better in her more recent photos but she is covered by the lace sleeves so you can't really compare her arms.

IMO her arms, while muscular, look too thin in both the before and after TA pictures. It's a matter of taste but the scrawny muscular look does not appeal to me in either a man or a woman.

I much prefer Cathe for a muscular female body. She doesn't appear to have an once of fat but does not look srawny or skeletal.

I don't think he has been Madonna's trainer for many years. He says in one article that he used to train her for 8 to 9 years but that was a long time ago. He trained Julia Roberts in the 1990s, so I'm guessing Madonna was maybe back then too.

I wonder if it's more a matter of dietary changes than the workouts themselves...?

According to the link below Pat Manocchia was the very first fitness trainer for Madonna so I guess it was during 1990-2000.
