Avoiding Injury as we Age

Peter Attia seems to alway have something interesting to teach. Here's a short article on how eccentric strength is critical for avoiding falls as we age.

https://peterattiamd.com/avoiding-in...eid=5121dea1ba

In it he does say he will focus on grip strength in a separate post. He's got a podcast called "The Drive" that's pretty good, though goes into really deep details sometimes, too. Some of his content is only available to subscribers.

This recent study showed that those employing an eccentric move (emphasis on the elongation move of weight lifting) increased overall strength.

i've been looking more at resistance band exercises since by its very nature, employs eccentric style of resistance training.

Now that’s interesting!

I'll plug the old Dara Torres resistance stretching dvd here - I finally started using it after staring at it for years. There are also a couple of decent youtube channels

boring as hell, harder than it looks, fixed my recent knee pain, I honestly think this will keep me in the saddle (literally) for some extra years.
