Question Working the Butt not the Quads

I'm trying to strengthen my glutes without increasing my quad, hoping to slim them actually. I already have a "bubble butt" not a flat pancake butt so hoping to lose some body fat and strengthen, further shape what I have. I don't however want to make my already large quads gain any more muscle mass.

I have Butt Bible and have done Level 1 and 2 each for 2 weeks each. (The rotation says do them both twice a week for a month) I feel ready to move on since I've already been doing mostly Cathe workouts for years.

My question is, I like variety and I don't think I'll stick to Butt Bible Level 3 twice a week. I haven't previewed it yet but I'm guessing it will had squats like the other 2 levels did. I was thinking of doing BB Level 3 once a week and then for my second butt workout doing Tonique Mat. I have TM but have only done it once and it was years ago. Would pairing these two be a good complement?? If not, other thoughts? I have EBE2 and I'm using BB to work up to that set.

Thanks.

I haven't done it, but it's Cathe's Great Glutes butt focused?

Whatever you end up picking, you can also go into DVD workouts with a game plan. When I still did Cathe strength workouts, I would have a plan like, after the third round of push-ups, any other sets of push-ups I will change to bent over rows, etc. I would recommend making a list of butt and hip hinging exercises, and whenever a squat variation or other quad exercise comes up, do your alternative exercise instead.

Nothing works my butt better than barre & kettlebells. Both emphasize my glutes & not quads. I'm back to this rotation now.

My quads always burn with barre and my butt not so much. Maybe it's my form?? What barre workouts do you do primarily?

Right now it's pure barre. I've also done a lot of P57

For floor work that really isolates gluteus....

Of course, Buns of Steel
Brazil butt lift floor work
Cathe's Butts and Guts, Leg and Glutes
Taebo Live advanced vol 5 has a long floor/butt routine
Tracy effinger workouts

Agree with kettle bell work - emphasizes proper squat technique which puts the emphasis on glutes although quads still work.
I think p90x 3 is fairly glute focused as well.

Good luck! Anne Y

I have Cathe's Great Glutes. I still feel that one works my quads a bit more than I'd like.

I don't have anything by Hamelin or any Barlates. Not sure I want to spend anymore money on new workouts. But maybe a Christmas present. Do either of these come on dvds or are they streaming only?

I think you just need to do some floor work, it's easy to emphasize glutes with floor exercises. Barlates has lots of free workouts on you-tube, they are really good. Christine Salus has you-tube booty workouts too.
