I'll take midnight eastern time

I can switch from 10PM to 6 PM (3PM my time) which I think would fill the schedule, plus a few extra people in some of our openings. I expect we'll also get some check-ins from VFers who didn't commit ahead of time as we often do.

Are we set, then, Fitboop?

I didn't see you had picked 10 PM. You can keep that slot and I'll pick a different one.

I am claiming midnight (9:00 pm for me) & 5:00 pm. It will either be abs/stretch or yoga tonight and weights tomorrow afternoon.

Hi! It looks like we have exercisers for the whole 24 hours now .

I hope everyone has a lot of fun exercising on New Year's Day! I always feel like I'm on a mission whenever I exercise for the VF Marathon .

Anyone who hasn't officially signed up is welcome to join in, of course, and post your New Year's Day workout here.

I wish everyone here at VF a very happy, healthy 2014!

P.S. Please post here on this thread after you finish your New Year's workout.

Happy 2014!

My midnight EST workout is one of my unopened workouts... one that I thought could capture the New Year's spirit & be lots of fun:

Zumba Max - Beto's Maximum Calorie Burn

Wishing everyone a happy & healthy New Year!

Welcome 2014!

My 12:00 am EST workout was Cathe's Core Max, the complete core premix + Stretch Max, the stability ball stretch. Soon I'm off to bed!

I did one of my current favorite workouts - freestyle on my high step topper while watching a movie. Traditionally, we watch classic films like Fred and Ginger on New Years Eve. The best I could find this year is the That's Entertainment series. It wasn't bad spending an hour keeping the beat with Gene Kelly and Cyd Charisse or Judy Garland and Fred Astaire.

Happy New Year to both those already in next year and those of us still anticipating midnight. I'll be back after I've celebrated with my wind down and stretch out session.

I kicked off midnight EST (2pm for me) by skiing and laughing in the face of strong winds sand-blasting my face with snow.

My lesson was relaxed and low key because the lack of visibility meant we really couldn't do anything too challenging. We worked on technique, which made it feel a bit yoga-ish. All about balance and shifting your weight to let gravity do the work.

But by the end, I went down the black run - the one that if you wipe put, you do it in full view of the entire chair lift. And at the bottom, I told my instructor, "That wasn't so hard!"

The Japanese believe that however you spend New Year's Day determines how the rest of your year will be. I really hope that's true, because mine was spend having fun, with my family, cheerful in the face of setbacks, and with a really enjoyable bit of exercise in a fantastic setting.

Happy 2014 everyone!
