Todays workouts:
~ETV: one of Alexa’s Live classes, first 20 min
~Strength circuit day 1
~Beth’s Evening Yin practice - Very nice Beth, sure felt good!

Thanks for the congrats to my DS. His specialty is family medicine & he will be doing a two year stint up on north end of the island to get some rural experience. It’s about a 4 hour drive from here. After that, I think he will move closer to Victoria to settle in for the long haul. If that happens, we will head that way too as both boys will be down there.

I’m so into working out and staying active as long as I can! I have friends my age who are suffering the fallout of long standing sedentary lifestyles. It’s hard to claw your way back up if you’ve let yourself get out of shape.

Pat - I’m cracking up about training your balls .

Carolyn - I’m going to do more split session weeks, I like the concept.

Pane - I don’t batch cook, but I aim for leftovers. I like the “cook once eat twice” approach. The boys still automatically open the fridge to forage for leftovers as soon as they come through he door, lol.

Waves to all!

Today is an unplanned rest day.

Pam, I would want to move to Victoria too if my kids and grandkids lived there. I'm much happier now living within driving distance to our 3 kids and my sister and nephew.

Pat, thanks for the chuckle about "training your balls"!

Good morning everyone! My Sunday:

~ Winsor Buns & Thighs
~ My own yin spine releases
~ Walk at beach
~ After dinner walk around neighborhood
~ 8,393 steps

Pam, bless your son for opting to hang his shingle in a rural area where the need is so great. You and DH did good.

Best to all! Have a wonderful Moan Day.

Hello everyone!

Hello everyone! I’m thinking about joining this check in. My favorite workouts are Callanetics and anything barre. I just subscribed to Ellen Barrett today - can’t wait to try some of them out! My name is Jeanette, I’m a homeschooling mom in Indiana. Can’t wait to chat with you all! ❤️

Jeanette, I'm happy to have you here in our check-in. I look forward to getting to know you better! I have some Callanetics DVDs (I need to revisit those!) and I enjoy barre too. Lately I've been doing a lot of strength work with Margaret Richard and I love Yin Yoga too.
I'm 66 and our 3 kids are grown up and in their own homes. I take care of our 2 grandsons (age 3 and 7) during the week for our daughter and her DH while they work full time. My DH and I love having having our grandsons over our house to play.

Jeannette, welcome! My only Callanetics is the more modern Callanetics Express, which I like - I always think I should do it more often. I enjoy Barre3 and some other barre work, and there are definitely other Ellen fans here. Feel free to chime in at any time!

Good morning! I had rheumatologist in the morning, which always brings me down because I prefer to take action than dwell on my woes. In short I let myself have a nurturing day featuring Lee Holden's Qigong for Joints & Bones (LOL how appropriate) and Kassandra's Chill Out Yin. That was so nice, very gentle with long spine stretches on a bolster. Also enjoyed a read while soaking my feet in pink Himalayan sea salts and a sea salt scrub. I wonder why soaking or washing or applying nice lotion to your feet before bed makes you sleep better?

I wish Kassandra offered more bolster practices, even though I used mine regularly during her yoga. I haven't done a practice from the book yet, but I may have figured out how to mirror my phone to the TV.

Hey Jeannette, welcome aboard! We're glad you joined us. I am new to Ellen's streaming and LOVE it. I look forward to hearing about your favorites.

Everyone have a stellar day!
