I'm about halfway finished with Billy Summers by Stephen King. I didn't know he wrote crime novels nor that a hitman could be endearing . I'm finding it difficult to put this book down!

I realized I lied. I thought about pulling Very Valentine of my TBR shelf, but instead I decided on the Sequel to Crazy Rich Asians, China Rich Girlfriend.

Dena, I missed responding to your earlier - yes, acceptance is not the same as liking it.

I finished The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah. I'm now reading The Lost and Found Bookshop by Susan Wiggs.

Pat, I couldn't get into Lisey's Story so I stopped reading that one.

That wasn't one of my favorites, but I did finish. Has anyone seen the series based on this? I miss all the shows based on King's novels because we don't have any streaming services.

I just started The Family Remains by Lisa Jewell tonight and couldn't get past chapter three. It did not hold my attention at all. I'll try to pick up where I left off tomorrow but unless the next couple chapters are better, it will be going right back to the library this week.

Oh that's disappointing. Had you gone back to review The Family Upstairs? What is it about it that's not grabbing you?

Had you read the first book The Family Remains?

Sometimes it takes me awhile to get into her books.

Pat58, your avatar made me laugh out loud. It's spot on!

I'm still working on Shogun by James Clavell, nearing the 2/3 point. It's pretty good--I'm learning a ton about Japanese history--but quite violent and political. Reminds me a lot of the George RR Martin Song of Ice and Fire books in many ways.

Since that has been my main print book and I haven't had as much time to sit and read lately, I've been scouting around for an audiobook but nothing's caught my interest so far.

Yes, I did quickly peruse the first novel to refresh my memory. The sequel was just plain boring, IMO. I skipped ahead and read a couple more chapters, hoping it would pull me in but no such luck. It's like The Family Upstairs on ZzzQuil.
