Thought I'd pass along this interesting article on a study of the relationship between balance and overall health.

Thanks for posting, Linda! I'm sending the link to family members.

I've noticed in recent years that the questionnaire before a physical asks if you've fallen recently but I feel that's too generic a question. Yes, I've fallen from slipping on ice but that doesn't necessarily mean I have a balance problem, it means I had an ice problem! But at least the question is starting to be asked in some way.

Thanks for this! I discovered that my "sighted" balance is good, but, boy, I have an issue with my eyes closed. Lots of great information!

Great article! This is an area I was working on before my accident. My strong leg is now my weak leg. I really noticed it with unilateral bodyweight or strength workouts. Something I’m hoping to improve as I continue to recover.

Before my surgery they asked me if I had fallen lately. I told them about tripping over the dog ramp when I was on my way to the couch with a piece of cake on a plate. I took a nosedive onto the couch and the cake flew up in the air, but I was still holding the plate and managed to stretch out my arm and catch the cake on the plate as the cake was returning to earth. I think I impressed them all with my athleticism. 😁
