When might I start to see "results" with Jari Love?

I am a long-term exerciser who works out, at minimum, five days per week. For the past few years, most of my workouts have been cardio based. About six weeks ago, I decided to start doing more strength work in the hopes of getting a more toned look and preserving my bones/muscles/metabolism as I age (I'm 37).

So, every Tuesday and Thursday, I do a full (60 min) Jari DVD. I have quite a few, so I rotate amongst them. I generally use the weight amounts that Jari uses, though sometimes I go up just a bit (she uses 8s, I use 10s). If there is an option to "modify up" (i.e., use the step), I do that.

I have noticed that my clothes are a bit looser on me, but I don't really see any visible changes in the way I look. I have also gained three pounds, despite not changing my diet and trying to adding back my missing cardio days on the weekends (usually an hour of Zumba on Saturdays and at least an "active" day on Sundays - jog or bike ride with the kids, playing softball, etc.).

My goals is to look more "toned," not to "muscle up," hence I chose Jari's method. My eating has not changed. I am not overweight.

Is six weeks too soon to expect visible results? Is two days/week not enough? Am I just wasting my time? Would love to hear some feedback.

Thanks!
Sherri

I think your clothes being loose despite gaining 3 pounds is the beginning of results already. IMO, to see the kinds of "wow!" results that really show takes months, not weeks. But you're on your way already!

Back in 2008, I did a 3-month Jari rotation using her first 5 dvds. I kept it simple 3x/week Jari alternating with 3x/week cardio (elliptical 40-60mins) - I lost just 5-6lbs but went from a size 10 to a 6.

Give it another 6 weeks. You'll lose body fat and start to see more definition.

Agreed. It also could take paying more attention to the food as well (without getting into diet specifics).

Each person is different. But to expect Big Bang results in 6 weeks, to quote infomercials, those "results aren't typical".
