the best cardio workout

Which cardio workout does the best for your body.
After being sick I have to start again and I need to burn a lot of calories.

My favourite workouts are barre workouts but there is not a lot of cardio in it.

I really like to hear from you what works the best for you.
Is it running or walking/leslie sansone workouts, kickboxing workouts, dancing or......

Do you have favourite cardio dvds you recommend to anyone?

I lost 40 lbs with kickboxing, I used TJ and Cathe's KPC 6x per week for several months.....kettlebell swings, and figure 8's (for 4 minutes non-stop) with a heavy enough bell (I'm using 30 lbs) and H.I.I.T worked great for me also and of course a healthy "eating Plan"

For me, running is THE BEST followed closely by spinning. When I don't want too much impact I walk with 3 lb hand weights and alternate upper body exercises. Usually 25-30 reps of each move, 3 or 4 sets of moves for each muscle group. (delts, bis, pecs tris.) I try to incorporate moves that engage the back as well...

As far as DVDs, kickboxing with light (1-2lb) hand weights works wonders for me. I really enjoy step too, but I think it overworks my legs. I used to be a step instructor, so you can imagine what my legs look like now!

Kickboxing, kettlebell swings and snatches and running!

But it's more important that you do something you love: you are more likely to lose weight because you will stick with it because it's something you enjoy.

kettlebells, running, and kickboxing. if i couldn't do another workouts i would be happy with this. but i do add dance, stepping and hi-lo just to break and get some variety to keep from getting bored. but these are my cardio mainstays!

advantage with 'bells and kickboxing is that you also get some toning benefits

If it is burning calories you are most concerned with, you burn the same number whether you run or walk a mile, the walking just takes longer.

Just find whatever kind of movement agrees with you the most and if less intense, just do it longer.

I'll chime in for kickboxing, but bicycling is awesome too!

And I'll always throw in a vote for the Insanity set. That's cardio to the max baby!

And I've recently discovered how fun cardio dance workouts can be, like Zumba, bellydancing, etc. I look like a dork, but my HR goes up and it's tons of fun!

In all my research I always hear that nothing beats running outside for cardio. I wish I could do it but it just doesn't work for me.
