Body Bar Challenge vs. New Body Bar Workout

I'm interested in purchasing one or the other of Keli Roberts' Body Bar workout (or even both!). Those of you who own or have tried both - can you tell me the difference between the two? Is one newer than the other? Which one is tougher? Do they have different empasis - upper vs. lower body?

Thanks!
Anna

Cool Both are good but...

I prefer New Body Bar Workout. IMO, it's the harder of the two and just more enjoyable. Still, both are well worth getting. But, if you can only get one, I'd recommend NBBW. In a lot of ways, it reminds me of Cathe's Power Hour. The sequencing is similar and it even has the low ends (which Keli calls partials). Keli is fantastic in both tapes and her laugh always cracks me up, even when my muscles are screaming at her!

I have both

I have both tapes and can't really tell you which one I prefer. Both really give me a great workout. I started with the Body Bar Challenge since it seems to have received a bit more praise. I liked it so much I ordered her other body bar tape and like that one too. They are both good. Get both! More is better, right? Especially at VF!

Thanks!

Thanks for info, guys! And especially for the other thread, Janet. I tried to search before posting, but I got so many hits on "body" that it was overwhelming.

Well, I guess the decision is made. I'm going to have to get both!

Can Body Bar tapes be done with a barbell?

I've been interested in these two tapes as well, but what has kept me from ordering is the fact that I don't have a Body Bar and am not overly interested in buying one. To me, they seem expensive, especially since they are not adjustable in terms of weight.

Can a barbell and/or dumbells be substituted on these two tapes, or do the exercises require the "even weight distribution" that a Body Bar provides?

New Body Bar Workout

I like both videos but I prefer NBBW. But I don't just use a bodybar. I use two different size barbells, my 12 lb bodybar, and an 8 lb dumbbell. I used to not use the dumbbell but doing those rear lat raises with the 12 lb bodybar were too tough!!

The reason why I prefer NBBW is because you work the lower body separate from the upper body. So I can lift heavier weights for the lower body. BBC uses more compound movements so I only use my 18 lb and 12 lb bodybar with this video. You do need a step for NBBW but you don't need one for BBC.

Michelle, Keli's BB videos work well with barbell(s) and dumbbells. She uses regular weight lifting moves. In contrast, Clare's bodybar videos are more functional type movements. So her videos work best with a bodybar.

I thought Body Bar Challenge was okay, but I LOVE New Body Bar Workout. It is one of my favorite weight tapes. I use a combination of body bar and dumbbells, but when I first got the tape and didn't have a body bar, I used all dumbbells and it worked out beautifully.
