Sooo have definitely discovered that my computer woes (super slow VF) is to do with my computer. Typing this on the old iMac and it's NOT slow - whilst on the new one, the page for VF has "this site can't be reached" with the reload button. Came up here (old iMac) straight away.

It's not only doing it for VF now, but also for my school's website.

Tuesday
Cathe - Step Heat - Section 1 Mix, 8" with buddy
Wednesday
5km brisk walk with school

Thursday - was supposed to be out due to parent/teacher night, on Zoom, but as of this afternoon, our region has gone into a snap lockdown due to a few cases in our area - carried here by ONE person who broke the "don't leave Greater Sydney" lockdown rules to go to a big party at a beach 30min south of here. Hope they cop a HUGE fine!!

Helen - glad you found the cause of the slow-down, if not the cure. Your lockdown is definitely frustrating, but from my point of view, your country is doing such a better job of containment than ours. One reckless person can cause such trouble for so many.

8/4 - dog walk
1 mile with Leslie for a warm up
30 Min. Low Intensity Ride with Jenn Sherman
5 Min. Post Ride Stretch w/ Robin Arzon

For a low intensity ride, I was certainly sweating like crazy! I really need to ride more consistently. Too many workouts, not enough time?

I started going through my shelves of workouts while cleaning the basement yesterday. I decided to purge any VHS tapes, including some original FIRMs. I still have many more in boxes to go through. Today I previewed some DVDs that may all be virgins to see if I should keep or toss, rather than starting to do them and then deciding they are not for me. Many more to go, but it seems like a good method.

As usual, WAYYY behind

Time to get caught up. I'm off of work today, so no rush to get to workout, to get to work, etc, etc, etc.

Good Morning All!!!
Thank you to the people who keep this check in going. I do look forward to reading it each morning with my coffee!!! So from the bottom of my heart?!? THANK YOU!

Helen: A snap lockdown due to one person ... Hmmm. Your country is handling it super well. Especially compared to ours. We're headed into the fall and big problems, but I won't go into it. You can see/hear/read our news and you know. It's a mess to say the very least.

Lili: wow on going through the workouts! I can't do it. I'm a collector. I have so many vhs tapes that are on a bookshelf on the wall in my workout room. (even the kid who delivered my peloton siad, "Whooooooaaaaaaahhhhh... look at all those vhs tapes. My Grandma has alot like that." Uhhh. thanks kid! ) I am so not there yet.

Oh and just because a ride is "low intensity" it is NOT to be confused with "EASY". You can get a phenomenal workout from low intensity rides. So, maybe you need to ride more? Maybe not ... give yourself some slack. A ride is what you make it. Although it is true... too many workouts and not enough time. FOR SURE.

Anita: I'm sure you'll fly in soon.

Waves to any/all reading ... Kay, Vantreesta, etc!!!

I'm back to my challenge, although you'll be surprised (as I was) to find out, I'm just about HALFWAY through it already. HUH? How did that happen? Well you know .... time marches on. It's crazy how that happens. And this challenge is only 6 weeks, so there's that. I do think I'll have to redo my FTP test soon. It's been awhile and I am definitely getting stronger. The only reason I hesitate to do so? I am doing so many other workouts, that I kinda like the level I'm at. That's the reason I haven't done it leading up to now. Leaves me energy for rowing, jumping, tread, strength, etc, etc. . . . We'll see. I have time to decide. I may have been having a particularly good day.

Ok, to continue on with ME, ME, ME:

Say what??? I haven't checked in at ALL for August? oh my!

8/1/2021: Row 30 minutes, Elliptical (did a Bike/Bootcamp using the elliptical for the bike parts) upper body with Tunde, 20 mins. Abs

8/2/2021: 45 mins. Sam Yo's Hiits and Hills, 30 mins. Power Zone ride with Matt, 5 mins. Post Ride Stretch, 10 mins. Abs with Matty**

8/3/2021: 45 mins. Matt Power Zone Ride

8/4/2021: 45 mins. Denis Mortin's PZ ride (last interval 10 mins. zone 3 to Freebird! Yes please & thank you! loved it) , 2 Post Ride Stretches (since I missed yesterday's) , 10 mins. Emma's core

8/5/2021: Jess King's Sweat Steady ride 45 mins. + 5 mins Post Ride Stretch

** Matty put out an ab schedule for the next 5 weeks taking us to Labor Day. I thought I would do it. Then realized after doing the first class, I much prefer doing Emma's core classes, so switched back to hers. It doesn't matter WHAT core classes I'm doing, as long as I'm consistent.

I was all hyped up to do the Denis PZ ride (freebird) to ride with some of the members of the challenge. It's always fun to ride with others. But, I didn't realize, this was NOT the alternate to earn extra points. Soooooo I had to do the Jess King Ride the next day to keep my status (for the non competitve Cleda Tier 1 hahahahahahahahahaha!) so I did Jess King's the next day. Now I have two 60 mins. power zone rides to finish out htis week and it's complete. To be done (probably) today and tomorrow .... leaving me Sun. free for FUNDAY SUNDAY. I have a Broadway ride of Sam Yo's that was highly recommended to me.

Tuesday's ride? Good grief - thought it would be endurance. I was short on time, not a problem - it's endurance. Only one water bottle. No big deal, it's only endurance. Go to find it on my app to have the timer set, no such endurance ride. Hear Matt say, "First interval is 4 mins. zone 4, 2 mins. zone 2, 4 mins. zone 4" and I was like, "CRAP! this is NOT endurance." hahahahahhaah. I was duped. And by then the ride had started. I was clock watching, I was sweaty, I was annoyed at myself for not researching better. My body thanked me, I rushed around like a crazy woman to make it to work on time. And blasted the AC on max so that at least I wouldn't be sweating when I arrived at work (after my shower). The one thing I've learned about me is: I usually like to do: a cool down ride, a post ride stretch and abs to cool down after the rides. There was ZERO time for that after this. Oy .... but my body thanked me and I survived and the workout was done.

Ok, enough of me, me, me.
Hope all is well.
Waves to all ....
Cleda

PS ... My exchange jump ropes have arrived (I got a smaller size). Still wondering if they're too long?!? But we'll see. So I should be back to some jumprope in the check ins.

Wow, Cleda, you've been busy! I hear you on the collector thing, but I'm really trying to pare things down. Realistically, I do more streaming than videos as it is, so why am I keeping all of these workouts that I'm not doing? I really hate starting a workout and 10-20 minutes in decide I don't like it, so this previewing is eliminating that portion. Plus, I knit while I preview, so it's all good.
Anita - I hope we didn't scare you off with all of our chatter! You can just post and run, we are just happy to share!

8/5 - dog walk
45 min. Bodyweight Intervals from GHU
8/6 - dog walk
4 miles with Jessica from 5 Mile Mix

I was doing a mash-up of a Jessica rotation and a GHU rotation, but after 2 workouts from the GHU rota, I realized I picked one that is harder than I want. So, I redid my rotation to include 3 days of Jessica, and then occasional GHU workouts to fill a day here and there. The Bodyweight workout was Tabbata style, and I just don't want killer workouts at this point in my life. Of course there will be Peloton in there, too.

Checking in

I hope I didn't scare Anita away with my long book. That's what happens when I skip checking in on a daily basis. So hopefully, I can remedy that. Or at least not go on and on and on!

Lili:
That's a good idea to do something while previewing. I'm sure the day will come. It just isn't here yet. I'm so thrilled with my "new remote" and the fact that I can do some dvds if I choose to!

And I hear you on doing things that are harder than you want. I'm that way any more. I do not need to do the mountain climbers and all the stuff I don't care for if I'm not in the mood (I do reserve the right to change my mind! and some days I attempt them) ~ but .... I know what I'm doing is effective, so I'm good with that.

Waves to all! Let me get this down and then get busy for today. The day is getting away from me:

8/6/2021: 10 mins. Breathe Row (for a warm up) to go into the special one minute Olympic Rows (for the badge) followed by a 20 mins. Breathe to cool down. Headed outside for my 10 mins. Jumprope session, then back indoors for 60 mins. PZ ride for my challenge and then Sam Yo's 30 mins. Broadway ride for fun (and to cool down ish! and it WAS fun. From 7/26/2021 for anyone who may want to give it a whirl! ), Post ride stretch and then 10 mins. Becs abs for Runners 10 mins. session.

Felt great. I had time, figured why not. I don't get the chance during the week with work to get in the long sessions and I (actually) do enjoy them. None of the activities are that time consuming with the exception of the bike!

I watched lots of You tube videos last night on jumping rope. I was using my 1 lb.er and my 1/2 lber. 1/2 lber is MUCH easier and I may stick to that for a week or so. I got lots of badges yesterday. 2 from Hydrow (40 week streak! yay me !!! and Olympic badge), participation badge from Crossrope for completing 5 workouts. I thought it was wayyyy more than that. oh how my brain switches things up. lol ... But I like the smaller size and I'm going to continue while it's still warm enough to jump outside. Not sure what I'll do come winter, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there. Who knows? Maybe I'll be out there anyway .... (as if!) lol. I HATE WINTER. Byt he same token, jumprope is much like running. Use it or lose it.

Make it a great day.

Checking in

Here it is Sunday already!

I just realized my calendar book planner will end at the end of this year. Now to go on a hunt for a new one. This one was a 2 year one. Which I LOVED. So I'll have to go see if I can track down the same one (I'm fairly certain I got this one at Walmart). I loved the fact that it was 2 years. And that SO FAR? Every block has been filled in!!! Can she do it??? 2 years straight of Every Day In __________?? I think she can.

8/7/2021: Jump Rope Warm up, 10 mins. jumping, a few minutes practicing one leg jumps or whatever they're called**, 30 minutes run on the tread with Adrian, 60 mins. CDE Power Zone endurance, post ride stretch, 10 mins. abs with Emma and 10 minute total body stretch with Adrian

** I figure the best way to learn the other hops is to start trying them slowly. I will practice and tack on a bit of practice after each session and that way my brain will slowly begin to remember it. It's called "alternate foot". Just looked it up. Should be simple and easy (it's not) but it will be and I will keep at it!

Have a great day.

I'm here Cleda! You had a marathon workout day! Good job!
It is so much easier when I check in every day, but I get distracted, etc.

8/7 - dog walk
4 Miles with Jessica from her 5 Mile Mix
8/8 - Bellicon's Lymphatic Clense w/ Jeremy in front of the Bean. I'm not sure what makes it a lymphatic anything, it seemed like any other rebounder workout.
Lady Gaga Power Walk with Gina B
10 Min. Foam Roller: Glutes with Hannah Corbin. My hip has been bothering me, so I'm hoping this worked out the kinks. Either way, it felt good in an ouch foam roller way.
Hope to walk the dogs later, we'll see.

I'm around - have given up arguing with computer - have 3 others to use, including old big-screen iMac already setup on my desk, so I'm oficially giving up & taking it in tomorrow to our local specialist.

Where am I up to?

LILI
Were there lots of twists in the cleanse workout?
I've heard that twists effectively squeeze our organs like wringing out a wet cloth - that could have come from a yoga workout? But I have also read that rebounding, in general, is good for the lymphatic system, but I can't recall why. Though I do take EVERYTHING with a sprinkle (at least!) of skepticism, unless it's from scholar.google.
__ hehe - for "in an ouch foam roller way"
__ just the word "tabata" makes me think "killer" anyway!
__ oh, didn't FIND the source of the slow-down, just got around it by using the old computer, but it's awkward to use where it is for various reasons but I'll move it into main space when take new one to the shop to get "the fix". The guy suspects malware, as it's ONLY on the one computer. It'll cost ~$100 but I've spent so many hours with it, it'll be worth paying someone else to solve.

CLEDA

That's for two YEARS of EVERY... DAMN... DAY!!!

Low energy day

We all have them! and yesterday was mine.

I lounged around, watched the women's indoor volleyball (Olympics). Yes! I have been watching the Olympics (bits and pieces when I stay awake) and have enjoyed them. I watched some of the closing ceremonies last night. I think I'm the only person who sits in front of the tv and cries with the athletes!!!

On to my check in, cuz at least I did SOMETHING:

8/8/2021: Soul Ride (15 mins.) with Sam Yo, Classical Ride with Bradley Rose (love him!) for 20 minutes, 10 minutes total body stretch with Matty

That's it. And I'm fine with it. This morning? I feel better, a little more rested.

Waves to all, have to do more paperwork and then get in my workout before work. Laundry is churning and I have a ton to do. Great to see you gals.
