I'm pregnant right now and I am doing what my doctor tells me. Which is:

- due to a side effect while undergoing IVF, I was at risk for something which could be triggered by twisting or torsion moves, so I was asked to avoid it for the first trimester

- I have always run hot and can get dehydrated if I over-do it. Now that I am cleared to exercise if I wish, I was cautioned to drink extra water and to work out indoors if I can

- I feel like my heart rate goes up much faster than it used to, so I resuming my workouts with lighter stuff and working my way back up again slowly

She suggested I get a Fitbit; I did this and found it very helpful. I already feel like I am less out of breath and I am trying to get as many steps as I can. Now that I am done schoo, for the summer and have more time, I plan to add in some strength and yoga. I thought I would keep the Leslie stuff going but it's not just the tummy that got bigger :-) So I have not felt up for that.

They told me that I can do whatever I was doing before but to listen to my body. Baby will tell me if I do something he doesn't like :-)

Congratulations, Joanna! Wishing you a happy, healthy pregnancy and delivery!

I think all pregnancies are individual, and ultimately the baby does rule and let you know what you can/can't do. My first 3 pregnancies were so easy and I was able to work out and stay active. My 4th was very different; I was sick, the baby was positioned oddly so it was difficult to walk. As with everything, YMMV!

NoraKate, I apologize that I suggested you didn't read the articles you post. Recently you went on a spate of drama inducing crazy posts related to the fascia as well as many references which were themselves loaded rather then informing. When I suspected this time that you just don't read what you post, while that is kind of a bad idea, I understood why you posted such poor content. (However, that Slate magazine article was actually pretty good.)

But since it turns out you do read everything you post, I have no explanation for your blatant logical fallacies and ignorance about basic facts. (At one point you started to deny the existence of fascia.)

Also, your sarcastic PM to me doesn't impress either.
Went for a reread
You are incorrect
And you don't have a very good grip on the concept of sarcasm.
But that's ok
