Foam rollers?

Late to the party I know but decided I could benefit from this.
TIU has one on sale that has a grid pattern with a hollow core. Lots of good reviews on TIU and amazon. Two said it was a little small.
Any suggestions? Any experience with this type of roller?
Thanks for any help, suggestions, advice.

Phyllis - I don't know anything about the TIU foam roller, but I've had a foam roller for many years and do think it's a great tool. I looked on Amazon and the one most similar to the one I have is:

http://www.amazon.com/Inch-Length-Ro...m+roller&psc=1

I have the 6" X 36" which is "full size". I find the longer length best because you can lay (lie?) lengthwise on it (so from back of head to bottom of the back). It can really work out the kinks!

Phyllis, I just ordered the TIU roller. Shipping was $5, which was still a better price than a similar one I saw at Walmart. I have a full-size one, and a tiny one for travel. Foam rolling is good!

Got the TIU roller today and really like it. Also, since it's hollow, it'll be traveling with me (I can stuff things inside it, it won't be a suitcase space hog). I will note that TIU neglected to enclose the "Bonus Foam Roller Move Guide;" I've contacted their customer service.

Go to Youtube. Lots of foam roller demonstrations there. It's not complicated but it's good to see the different places you can use it.

Also, discount stores like TJ Maxx usually have foam rollers for sale at half the retail price. They won't be as fancy as the TIU roller (I like that it is hollow, probably worth paying extra for that if you think you will travel with it). Be sure to get the longer version. I had a shorter one at first and I was unable to do certain thing because of its size. Also, get a firm one. My first roller was a Go Fit brand and it ended up bowing in the center and not bouncing back up.

I have a rumble roller which is the harder plastic/rubber kind. I don't like it. It's much to hard.

I have the Grid, a couple of smooth foam rollers, and the foam roller from Beachbody that is pretty gnarly.

I use the Grid after every workout. It is by far my favorite foam roller. I foam roll on my own and really concentrate on the areas that need it the most. I start with my lower body; back and then front, and then roll out my back; starting with my lower back. I end at my head before I turn over and roll out the front of my body. Again, starting with my lower body.
