I miss my Body Media

I had a Body Media for years. Used it off and on for years, and found when I was active using it, I did a better job losing weight or keeping it off. I think cause it was very good at really finding out my calorie range, and my activity.

Well, it was bought out by Jawbone, who shut it down, and then they quit making activity trackers themselves.

Found my old Body Media a couple days ago. I had put it in the back of a dresser drawer, just in case, I think.

Man, I miss it. Yes, it was bulky, but wow. Fitbit isn't nearly as good. Period.

I wish Fitbit would come out with an armband like Body Media/Body Bugg. I'd buy that in a heartbeat if it was close to how accurate they were.

I had a Body Bugg, and I have a Vivofit 2 now, and the calorie range for the days seems pretty much the same. So, perhaps you can give that a try? They both gave me the same BMR on a rest day, so I use that as my baseline.

I used Polar for years. 6 months ago died. I ran to the store to get a replacement. I got a Vivofit with chest strap. It was on sale, so mine is an old version. I sink the HRM chest strap at the beggining of my workout. The rest of the day track steps.

I prefer HMR with chest straps for accuracy. Not sure how well the new wrist HRM versions works. I'm all for knowing my exertion level while working out. I have done "workouts" that not even rise my HR to zone 2. Pretty much Zone 1 which is basically not a workout.

I detest wasting my time. I generally workout 5 days a week for 1 - 1.5 hr. I make sure that I achieve the purpose of the work out. HRMs are a must for me.

Hi! I'm in the need of chaging mine. The display is acting up. I'm wondering if the new Vivofit versions are compatible with Garmin chest strap sensors.

Hmm, I'm not sure, since I jumped right in with the Vivofit2 and that's the only one I've had.

Thanks! I'll check it out next time I visit the store. Definitely, I need a new watch.
