Do you start your day with lemon water? And does it help? (with anything)

Just curious about this. I keep reading that drinking fresh squeezed lemon in warm water first thing has all kinds of health benefits, from better digestion to nicer skin to ... etc.

Do you practice this, and have you noticed benefits? TIA!

I practice this, but haven't noticed a difference really. Maybe if I started from a place of not drinking much water to drinking water then I could tell. But I don't know if the difference would be from simply drinking more water or the fact that I added lemons to it.

I just started using a warm lemon drink in the mornings for congestion.

to a cup of warm water add:
Juice of 1/2 lemon (equals 1 Tablespoon)
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
2 teaspoon honey
1 Tablespoon olive oil

I thought I would gag at the thought of olive oil in this recipe, but it is really good. Best of all, it actually works at eliminating congestion.

I just started doing this about 1.5 weeks ago, and noticed my acid reflux has improved so much!! But I've been adding lemon in all my water throughout the day - not just in the morning. Too soon to tell any other benefits but the acid reflux advantage was immediate and well worth keeping up the addition!

This sounds great for congestion, sore throats, allergy stuff - even just waking up. Thanks!

That's one of the benefits I'm hoping for.

I'd be worried about the acidity being bad for my teeth.

My dentist has basically forbidden me from any lemon-based beverages. He told me it is the worst thing you can do to your teeth. Far worse than pop or any other fruit juices (which are also bad for your teeth, just not quite as bad as lemon).

And here I thought I was so excited to find a remedy for my reflux with no PPI's!!

Ugh, maybe I'll try using a straw to have minimal contact with my teeth?....also found out you should wait 30 min. before brushing as this can cause even more bad effects with the enamel.

I can't win!! But thank you for the info...didn't even think about the ill effects...
