I absolutely LOVE Tap Less Step More - Deirdre Morris. She only did this one workout.

What I love about it are the premixes and the Choreography. It is an advanced level workout but not so crazy that you can't learn it and doesn't have all this jumping or athletic elements in it - but it is complicated enough that I'm not completely bored.

The first premix has warm-up, 1st four combos, cooldown, abs & stretch. The 2nd premix has warm-up, combos 5-8, cooldown, abs & stretch. The 3rd premix has warm-up, all eight combos all put together, done twice over, cooldown, abs & stretch. I think all step premixes should be done this way. When I learn a routine I don't want to break it down and relearn it repeatedly plus these premixes are all in the 30 minute range. This has to be my favorite step workout.

I like Gilad's Step Aerobics. No nonsense, straightforward and athletic combos, Hawaii, and a parrot.

P.S. -- I'm not kidding about any of it, including the parrot.

Does The Firm's Ballroom Aerobics count? I've not much room for a full step, so this suits my space. It's 45 minutes of aerobics, including dance steps on the short step and light dumbbells for four-limbed movements. I happen to love the music and am not sure what level, beginner/intermediate/advanced it is.

Cathe's Basic Step is my favorite, um, basic step. I think it's 30 min.
Tracie Long's Step Forward is the only I find that works my posterior chain.
Fun ones - Party Rockin' Step or some of Cathe's older ones. Christi Taylor for sure - I like the one where the modifiers are in a different color - easier to keep track of!

If you're looking for some step workouts with basic choreo, Gilad is a great place to start and Jenny Ford has several basic ones on YouTube.

I step workouts so my answer may be a bit detailed but here goes.

My favorite instructors for step are Amy Bento, Cathe and Seasun Zieger. They all have their strength/weaknesses. Cathe is a great all-rounder; superb cuing and good flow. Amy is always great for an intense cardio with fun choreo. Seasun's have awesome music with some really creative choreo. I would say these three instructors are all fairly complex, but the nice thing about DVDs is that you as you play them again and again your muscle memory kicks in and eventually you learn them - or learn your favorite modification for moves you just can't get down.

I think Amy's ASC 2 and 3 have some timesaver premixes. Cathe's Athletic Step is about 45 minutes, I think and the step section from Intensity is about 30 minutes (and tough!)

Amy's ASC 2 has two circuit premixes (w/weights), and Cathe has some specific step and weights ones. I am usually doing step for pure cardio, so I can't think of all these off the top of my head, but there are a variety of choices.

I would also second the Deidre Morris Tap Less Step More; that one is really a lot of fun and she is a good at cuing. Another good one is Gay Gasper's All Out Infused Step - this one has some great music and the "infused" moves are a lot of fun.

HTH!

So glad to see this question. Cathe is my all time favorite...nobody compares for me with music and choreography. I'll check these others out. Looking for new routines.
