I've been doing Classical Stretch/Essentrics for a couple years now. I got great input from many here at Videofitness before taking the plunge, especially Jackie. I only do it 3 times a week, mostly because I have exercise ADD and want to fit it "all" in.

I credit my regular Classical Stretch/Essentrics sessions for keeping my wonky back in shape. I've never had an injury from it. In fact, I used the back episodes from Season 4 on a daily basis the last time I injured my back, and they really helped.

I love Miranda and Sahra and I'm so grateful to the forum members who led me to them. I'm sorry to hear that others have had problems/injuries from it.

Me too. I've been doing CS Season 8 a lot but still only about 1x a week. However, when I was using my UR for high impact moves, my back started hurting when I was using it too much. So I would do CS more often since it stretched my back and made it feel better. It was also because I didn't think my body could handle other types of wos (except for stretching/yoga) since my back was really hurting.

I didn't realize that other people were injured using CS. This is good to know and luckily, I prefer to work out with different DVDs. A lot of it was to prevent overuse injuries. But I was thinking of terms of weight and cardio wos. I didn't realize that it applied to stretching programs too except for yoga. I can't do the latter too much because I'm afraid of overuse wrist injuries.

I enjoy CS but could not do it exclusively and I can see how some of the lunging/reaching combinations could injure the low back if one is vulnerable to it. I did daily CS for a few months and really enjoyed it but it was always in combination with cardio and yoga.

I injured my back doing season 8. I took a long time for it to get back to normal. It was such a weird injury. It was more mid back.

I do the very short clips of Essentrics that you can find on vimeo and you-tube, and recently, I tried a half hour workout for the waist and arms. I do enjoy the arm stuff very much, but the exercises were too demanding on my waist. I was very interested to read of other people's experiences, thank you.
