I agree it is kind of cheesy in a silly way, but I thought that was kind of fun. All the workouts I tried in the set were pretty good, the only one I didn't try was "Sculpt" (the full body one), but I have heard good things about it. I followed a four week rotation where I did mostly what was prescribed except I subbed Sculpt for a different full body strength program. And I was doing other cardio so I only sometimes did the Cardio Axe workout. I had pretty good results in the four weeks. Mostly inch loss in my waist though. But I agree it may depend a lot on your reaction to the instructor so you may want to watch some clips on youtube since if you find him too annoying you probably won't do it enough to be consistent. I think that is true of most dvd programs though.

Haha, Leandro is super cheesy, but I still love it. I especially LOVE the High and Tight workout. The bum bum workout is quite hard in my opinion. It leaves me gasping for air. I didn't do sculpt or cardio axe, but I use those other two pretty regularly and I have been getting many compliments on my bum bum.

I like the moves, but sold the dvds because the moves are easy to do on your own. He drove me nuts.

He also always says, Nice! That kind of annoyed me too. The switching of scenes didn't make sense to me.

When this set first came out, it received so many positive reviews here that I was constantly tempted to buy it. But then I'd watch clips and think that Leandro was a total goofball and that he'd drive me nuts. Eventually, after about a year when a lot of the hoopla died down, I did buy the set and fell in love.

And not just with High & Tight and Bum Bum, which seem to be the most popular dvds from the set, but also Cardio Axe, Sculpt, and Tummy Tuck. The latter two IMO are awesome sculpting routines! To me, they are super effective and a lot of fun. I don't mind the scene switches; it adds a little flavor to the workout. Leandro is adorable, has a great sense of humor, and is very supportive. (He's also extremely easy on the eyes, if that matters to you.)

My legs were already in pretty decent shape and, truthfully, I didn't notice a major improvement there. But I definitely noticed my waist and abs looking leaner and tighter, and my upper body looked more defined.

I loved the basic set so much I also bought the deluxe dvds. Of that set, I think Rio Extreme is a fantastic cardio/sculpt workout. I got a lot of use from that one. Abs Rapido is a good 11 minute core workout, which offers different exercises from Tummy Tuck, but is not nearly as tough or as fun; the music is also pretty bad. In some parts, it sounded like '70s porn! I previewed Upper Cuts but never actually did it. I don't remember why I was never able to fit it in. It's one of the shorter workouts at 12 minutes.

Also wanted to say that when I watched the clips I thought his background exercisers were probably just pretty young things who were chosen for their looks, but those women are STRONG and always demonstrate good form.

I started a new rotation including BBL today. I have been gaining weight steadily over the last few months and need to shake things up. My shorts are too tight for me now and it is sooo frustrating! I have been wearing a lot of dresses this summer because the only shorts that fit right are my workout shorts! BBL has always been consistent in doing good things for my core and legs so it's back in for now. I will be doing Bum Bum and H&T twice a week each, and using Ballet Body mat and weights for upper body strength, with yoga twice a week as well. In addition, I will walk as much as possible.

Of course, I know diet has a lot to do with things...I'm going to try to be more careful with my food choices as well. Unfortunately with the kids home from school, the snacking has gotten out of hand for me, so I need to rein it in.

I'll report back with results in about a month!
