I am using way less dvds than I have in years past. Kind of like Lucky Star--I'm big into CS/Essentrics and have a handful of other instructors I like. My neighbor and I walk 2-3 miles/day. I don't have the patience for long workouts, either.

The trick is, should I get rid of more???

I go to a gym; no DVDs for me. Oltifan, I urge you to give it a try.

I'm going through this phase again. I just feel like I'm spinning my wheels when I do exercise DVDs. I'd rather walk.

Maybe this will change when I'm able to afford Les Mills Combat.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with that! Especially if it's spring/summer where you are. Being in nature especially - nothing beats that.

Really, year round, the main reason I do DVD's is for things I would never, ever have the motivation to do on my own, but have been beneficial to me. That's why the only DVD I've done in the past few months has been Tonique, because I would otherwise be quitting by the 15th rep

Nothing wrong with taking a DVD break. Enjoy the outdoors!

I feel this too- for me it's the nice weather. So I open the window while I do my DVDs. I hear the birds, feel the breeze, see all the green... makes me happy

Funny, when this thread first came around I was all about dvds. Shortly after I got into paper workouts and now don't do dvds much.

For me though it is really because paper workouts fit in my life better. I can do a paper workout or hop on the elliptical while my youngest daughter watches Sesame St or Daniel Tiger's neighborhood (my typical workout slot.) If I can fit in a dvd I will do it but more often than not as soon as I put one in all the kids start fighting.

I enjoy my paper workouts a lot anyway. I can go at my own pace, set my own breaks, manipulate rep counts, sets, etc. to make the workout perfect for me.

Anybody else see the irony about a 5-page thread (so far) on a video website about NOT doing videos? I think that's a testament as to how good this site is, no matter how we exercise

(And I go through phases, too)

Yes and no - because we also cover books, audio, and exercise in general. But I agree, it's a testament to this community!

Ha, I read my old post and still feel the same. I'm about to do an Erin O'Brien workout right now; still loving my "personal trainers", still mostly ignoring my "slick" workouts.

For those that are doing paper work outs, which do you recommend?
