Lightbulb May 2021 Add 'em up Goals & Habits Challenge ~Join us!

Come join us in setting and achieving goals to promote your overall wellness! We are a friendly and welcoming group who love to chat when we have time, but please also feel free to join us if you want to just focus on your goals. No pressure here to address everyone; share as little or as much as you want!

We have been doing this challenge for many years now. While it is not strictly about fitness goals, we agree that our daily life goals work together with our fitness goals to make us happier and more balanced, so we combine them in this challenge. Feel free to join us! You can tailor it to your schedule if you need to take a week off for vacation or only count so many days. Whatever works for you!

Premise: Choose your goals for the month. Every time you complete a goal you get a point. Multiply your number of daily goals by the number of days in the month. This is your max total points. If you choose, reward yourself for reaching a certain percentage of your max possible (I use 90% for my personal goal), multiply by your max to get your total goal points. I also give myself extra credit options.

**Take this challenge however you wish. I used to total my points all the time but have fallen away from that and now just track my goals. There really are no rules, your challenge is your own, we're just here for support and to help each other with accountability. We would love to have you join us!

Happy May 1st!! Beautiful sunny day to welcome in May. We are supposed to get rain tonight but we desperately need it.

I feel like I should come up with some new goals but I think I'll wait until June. May is a very busy month for us so I'll just stick with what I know I can do reasonably well.

It looks like I've lost my massage therapist at least temporarily. She is having some challenges and taking a break. She said I should check back with her in 2 months. Hard to say if she's ready to move on to something else or not. She does a great job and it's hard to find people that are okay. So many want to do hard core trigger point and that is it. Not very relaxing.

I forgot it was May!

Katie, I answered you in the April thread. But here it is again. The Essentrics dvd is Essentrics Forever Painless Workouts, 8 Workouts on 2 DVDs, with Miranda. You put your foot on the chair, then twist when you do the leg lift. I did preview the back pain workout, and it looked like a lot of stretching, so think that one might be doable. If my dh's back goes out, I might be able to get him to do it. But only if he's in a lot of pain, lol. And congrats on meeting your goals! I'm sorry to hear about your massage therapist.

Sherry, I have a chair type program but it is Essentrics with Sahra instead of Miranda. It's called Strength and Stretch in Motion for the hips and hamstrings. I checked out their website too after reading your post. I haven't been on it in ages. Lots of new stuff. I hope the back workout will be good for you and dh. I should probably check out their youtube channel too.

Katie, nice job on your April goals! Sorry about the hiatus for your massage therapist. Hopefully it won't be very long.

Sherry, it's just weird to me that I like Essentrics with Sahra but not CS with Miranda. So much about Miranda just bugs me!

You're welcome, MT.

It got to 86 degrees today! I ran 1.5 mi this morning following my new Run With Hal training app. It was 70 and sunny, really low humidity around 35%, and I was way overdressed in short sleeves and capris, but it was short so no big deal, other than my empty stomach! After that I did the Wednesday workout from Leslie's Ultimate 5 Day Walk Plan, day 1 of the CVG app Murph training, and Slim & Limber. I was a bum the rest of the day, sadly watching my Twins get blown out and then happily watching my White Sox win. It's rough when your two favorite teams are in the same division! I spent some extra time cuddling Cyric tonight. Tmrw we're playing D&D so I'll be sitting and eating all day.
