Are they claiming the Bean will do that, or is it the 'Bean system" or 'Bean program." I've noticed a lot of infomercials phrase it that way ("the X system"/"the X program" rather than "X" will give you these results), and they include an eating plan, and often suggestions to add in cardio workouts.

I bought the Bean, and it's actually not as silly as that.
It is more stable than a stability ball, but it's great for doing ab work you would normally do on the floor. The "Bean crunch" (a crunch incorporating a pelvic tilt) really hits the abs well.

Kathryn, is the "Bean crunch" something that can be done on a BOSU as well? If so, are there any specific instructions you could share?

Thanks, Mary

I watched for the infomercial for two hours this morning - well, once each 30 minutes - and didn't see it. Maybe next time!

I was glued to the tv all morning but I didn't see it. I wish my Walmart had it but I've combed it over and over looking for the new Firms and they don't even have those. My Walmart stinks!!

I have the Bean as well. It's very comfy actually. More stable than my stability ball too. I like it for pushup help as well.

I actually prefer the original Infomercial with Hunter Ellis (the handsome former Navy pilot who is on the History Channel and was on the original Survivor) and Kristie Yamaguchi. I probably would not have bought it if I had seen the Lisa Kay informercial first.

I agree. It looks like a lounge chair!! And why do they state it will "melt away fat", we all know that will not happen unless it is aerobic. And that lounge chair is far from that!!

You could do something similar (but the rocking action of the Bean is what I think allows one to get deeper into the transverse abdominals). Drape yourself over the Bosu, then as you curl up, push through your feet and curl your lower abs in, so both upper and lower areas are forming an open "C".

I bought The Bean at Kohl's a few weeks ago. I haven't tried the DVD, but it is great for stretches!

Thanks Kathryn. I saw the bean infomercial for the first time about the same time that the May/June issue of Pilates Style magazine came out with an article using the spine corrector in what they referred to as an "intense" workout. Both the bean and the spine corrector were new to me, and to me at least, they look a lot alike.

So every time I read about the bean, I think about that spine corrector workout and get an itch to try it out.
