Pilates and yoga.
I credit yoga, and Karen Voight's Pilates-style routines, for helping me strengthen my core and my back.
I have a degenerated disc, and I cannot believe how much pilates and yoga improved things. I have not had an episode of back pain that was bad enough to keep me from going to work in well over a year. Knock wood, my back almost never hurts anymore. It is a little stiff sometimes, but not painful.
