Susan, you should really be in marketing

Glad you have found those poses so beneficial for you!

hi susan!

i, too, have ibs...and this tape sounds like it might be great for me, too! but quick question....i looked it up, and it says it's a "beginner" tape. hmmm...i'm a pretty solid intermediate in yoga..will this be too basic and boring for me? or are the twists and poses held long enough and varied enough to help my 'intenstines start grooving' despite the beginner label???

thanks so much!

I recommend trying true uddyiana bhanda, and its more advanced relative, nauli.

you exhale, create a vacuum in your stomach cavity, expand your ribs, and lift the internal organs behind the rib cage. Then, if you're really good, you move them right to left. Definitely a wake up call for the digestive system.

A couple of dvds have instruction for this that I don't think is very good - Yoga Live, and even Ana Forrest is, IMO, not that helpful.

There's a segment in Erich Schiffmann's Freedom Style set where these two guys do it, and explain it pretty well.

I love twists, forward bends, and the classic wind relieving pose.

You've got my undivided attention.

Callanetics has the same effect on me. Bellydance workouts also "move" me.

I'll have to give YZ's "Yoga for a Strong and Healthy Back" a try.

Well you know, Madeleine Lewis does "want you to enjoy movement," Lydia. She doesn't say what KIND of movement.
