I think VF is the LEAST negative forum I've seen. I have seen some knockdown, name calling, nasty, nasty fights on other forums - much worse than anything I've ever seen here.

I agree 100%. Even though VF has its moments, they aren't horrible.

Debbie left in a huff during the Medical Mark time period and swore she would never come back, but she did. Maybe in time, Debbie will decide to come back again.

Those "moments" can feel very horrible to the individuals who have felt attacked, insulted, slighted, humiliated, etc., and to others watching those events unfold. For their sakes, I would rather that VF continue to rise above the unpleasantness that happens elsewhere in the online world and set an enviable standard for respectful dialogue all the time. Rather than comparing VF to other forums with unpleasant fights, I'd prefer to compare VF to the best VF it can possibly be.

I agree, KD. I've been here since 1998, and I have been in the shoes that you are referring to. It's not a pleasant feeling.

VF was much worse in the earlier years. If VF had continued to go down that road, I would have left years ago.

I personally feel that VF is by far the best fitness website on the internet, and it continues to be my cyber-home.

That is interesting and good to know. It is my home too. I have tried others but this place fits me best.

If you've been around long enough you've probably had some rough times on the Internet -- I've been called a yoga wannabe. I'm a big girl though and get on with life.

ETA: Maybe we should have a "Those that have been pilloried" Check-in. Since I'm most recent, unless someone got it today, maybe I could/should start one.
