I will post later on to give a better idea of the tape, since I only had time to preview part of it (I have to go pick up the kids from school). The workout itself seems good, although I already don't like the ball stuff. I'm not a ball bouncing, ball throwing fan, and it seems awkward. I'm sure that I will like most of the workout, because I know Anna Benson does good stuff and I love Tracie Long. So, this is mostly observations outside the exercises themselves.
That said, here is what I have trouble with, just from the preview. The film is sort of fuzzy. It says it is in SP mode, but it is nowhere near as crisp as other SP tapes I have. It is about the quality of my own camcorder filming (granted, I have a nice camcorder). The editing is very choppy in places and sometimes Tracie's mouth and words don't quite match. Also many times, especially during the beginning, it would have benefitted from a longer shot, because her head is cut off in some shots where it would be helpful to be able to see her whole body. She is breathing very hard in places (which makes me love her all the more!)
, but the audio really picks it up. It also sounded like someone was walking around in the background during the introduction. The set is VERY busy, lots of wall art, plants and animal print rugs with a mirror behind and I found that a tad distracting, but that is probably just me, because I really dislike animal prints and jungle type art. Some of the distraction factor is that they are so close on her the whole time. She seems to be working out in a corner and there aren't many longer shots. I guess generally speaking, it was much more amateurish of a video than I would have expected. I think I've been spoiled by the Firm production quality for a long time, but I thought this would be more like that type of video. It seems very homemade.
I'm reserving judgment on it because it isn't fair to make a complete decision based on just previewing. Like I said, I think the workout itself will probably be killer and very innovative. But, with that in mind, if it wasn't Anna Benson and Tracie Long, the quality would be more of an issue with me. I'm not sure I'd keep this homemade of a tape if it was done by anyone else.
