I think it had to do with my declining estrogen levels at the time, which I really didn't understand was happening. I really didn't even know what perimenopause was at that point (now two years ago!) since I had just turned 45. I've had nerve issues and digestion issues since I started perimenopause, now nearly 3 years ago. When my estrogen level tanks, so does my digestion. Acupuncture has been helping though, and avoiding the problematic foods that I've identified. I still have no idea what exactly is wrong with me though. I am seeing an endocrinologist this week for kicks and giggles. I really am adverse to more tests and medications though, so I'm not really looking forward to it... |

I've had two colectomies (one year apart) so I know all about lousy digestion. And my estrogen/LH levels are down to nothing. My doctor wants me to have a brain MRI to rule out a pituitary tumor. Low sodium, elevated liver enzymes, low white blood count, low vitamin D, slightly anemic, it just goes on and on. Every time I get tested they find something new but no diagnosis and no treatment. I gave up trying to figure it out last year during covid. I felt like they just kept sending me on to the next specialist on a wild goose chase. But I was just left with more worry and no answers. I'm sure the endocrinologist will also send me for an MRI for a pituitary tumor. I had an MRI done about 20 years ago but thankfully no tumor. I had a lot of the same symptoms that I have now (but I was on the pill at the time and oddly enough had all the same symptoms that I do now, and I also had all these symptoms for an entire year after I had my son 16 years ago, but they all went away after I started eating less calories and working out more). I figured since doctors couldn't help me that I could at least try to help myself. The magnesium spray has helped a bit I think. Increasing my vitamin D through UV light has helped and taking lactoferrin and riboflavin have helped with the anemia (and changing my diet). Acupuncture has helped with some aspects recently. The fatigue after eating has gone away mostly but now I get chills after eating instead at certain points in my cycle (usually when my estrogen level drops). I sure hope you find some answers, I sure can relate! |

I'm sorry about everything you've been through and really hope the endocrinologist is good and can help. Keep me updated either on the forum or by PM. Thinking of you. Erica |
