I always freeze my greens as well as fruit, and I never use ice.

so um.mm.. what happened?

was it the taste or the waste? lol

I freeze it all. Greens, fruit, kale, spinach, anything that's going in my smoothie is just about frozen. or the apples are on the counter ready for drinking or smoothies.

I use plastic bags also. Takes up lot less room.
I've never frozen an apple.

I LOVE these, even though I'm sure they're very processed, but they're my guilty pleasure. But oh my Lord the days I forget and have more than one

Do you put the greens in straight out of the freezer? Does that...do something weird to the water in them? My parents used to always freeze cheese when were kids (because apparently we didn't use it up fast enough) and it just destroyed the texture of it.

I've been putting a couple of big handfuls of spinach in smoothies I make for my kids lately. The smoothies are usually brownish-something (pink, green, etc.) but they drink them up!

I buy the big bags of pre-washed and cut greens (kale, spinach, etc) and pop them right in the freezer. When I take a handful out for smoothies, they are crispy like chips (not as hard of course). I haven't noticed any change in taste, texture or color.

Hmm, learning something new every day. Never once thought about freezing greens. I feel as if someone just whacked me over the head with a silly putty hammer. Total forehead slap. BRILLIANT!!

Thank you ladies. Oh, and I enjoyed the chuckle. I'm going more vegetarian and the big salads and beans are doing to number on me. I know I'll get it all figured out internally, but right now I feel like a walking time bomb.
