Way back in the day I belonged to a list (this is before forums) and someone, her name was Fitbabe, was in one of the Firms and gave some scoop on some of what went on behind the scenes of filming the workouts. Anna was such a prefectionist that she wanted everyone - the cast included - to look their best for each take. She wanted everyone to eat very cleanly during filming so I'm sure she wouldn't have been happy with a margarita drinking, salty chip eating lead guest instructor. Again, all this probably isn't true or is a distorted version of the truth, but I always found the little blurbs about the filming interesting.

I'd also heard that Janet Jones surprised Anna during filming of Vol. 2 by completing all of her pushups on her toes. I don't think she had done that during rehersals so she snuck that in to surprise Anna and company.

I never heard any fun/interesting stories about Vol. 3 or Vol. 6 filming... I personally have always thought that Vol. 3 was the toughest of them all in terms of endurance. I credit that workout alone for giving me a resting heart rate in the 50s back when I was in my late 20s.

It's fun to go down memory lane.

I belonged to that list too. Fitbabe was Lisa Jackson. She was hilarious.

Hi, Carol! What ever happened to Fitbabe? Do you remember which workout she was in? It escapes me at the moment...

I truely was in the best shape of my life doing the Firms. I have strayed into other instructors over time, but I'm feeling the need to return to my "roots" to jumpstart myself back into action. I had four kids in just under four years and my last one has autism. Now, ten years later, I'm trying to rediscover fitness and there is a comfort factor in my Firms.

Every once in a while you'll run across others from the ol' list here, too.

I was on the list and I own nearly all the firms pre goodtimes. I have a DVD-VCR so I can still use my firms when I want. I am slowly replacing my tapes with DVDs. The great thing about the DVDs is that fitness favorites has chaptered them, so I can just do my favorite section, like volume 1 floor work after a run, etc. Some are sadly not available on DVD like strong heart with Heidi tanner and volume 5. Hopefully they will be made into DVDs soon.

Strong Heart (aka Firm Cardio) was released on DVD by Goodtimes. I have both Firm Cardio and Firm Strength on DVD.

Thanks for the link. I was holding out for a chaptered version from FF but I don't want to wait anymore. I think StrongBody and StrongHeart are as great as volume 1-6.

Yes, I think so too!
And by the way, I don't think FF will be permitted to produce DVDs for these anyway since they already exist in that format.

Oh I hope that's not true. Vols. 1 and 4 were out in DVD by Goodtimes and I think FF put them out again in their wonderful chaptered version.

I don't know what happened to her, but she was in one or more of the Cardio series: Cardio Burn, Maximum Cardio and Power Cardio (now called Calorie Killer 2).
