Red face ? about high impact after baby, possible TMI

So, my baby is 6 months old and I am doing everything I did pre-baby. But, the other day, I was doing TF Hiit 15 and trying to go all out...well, I noticed that whe I did a lot of impact combined with a lot of speed that I seem to pee myself a bit It doesn't happen w/ the non-Hiit workouts or any other "normal" high impact. Should I be doing more kegels?

Congrats on your baby!!! Mine will be 6 months old on the 31

I can't give you too much advise because this doesn't happen to me.... I had a c-section, maybe that's why.... I would think that definitely kegels with help with this issue!!! Good luck!!!

Yes, you need to be doing kegels. Every woman does, but especially those of us who have given birth vaginally. It's important for all kinds of reasons, incontinence being just one.

Squats are much better for strengthening the pelvic floor than kegels.

Check out the article link from Mama Sweat's Blog:

Pelvic Floor Party

There is hope yet! I've had 4 kids and no longer have the peepee problem. I attribute it to an increase in mainly squats but also lunges and deadlifts.

Wow!

I knew that strong glutes are important for healthy knees, but who knew that they also play a role in the health of your hoo-hah! Amazing!

Thanks for posting this, Saffron. Very interesting article. I've just had a baby too (C-section) and have been doing kegels and it has made me re-think my approach.

Thanks so much for the input everyone. More squats it is.
