Question Leslie's Ramp Thingie?

Saw these DVDs in my local used book store, which surprisingly is getting DVDs in, horribly overpriced for the most part, but still a good thing.

They have two Leslies with the ramp.

Can these be done on a regular club step? Do you "need" that slanted feature?

Yes, I have a Leslie problem, but I am not willing to address it yet.

I have her simple step routine (VHS) and it is even too simple for me, but I would love some Leslie step.

Renda,

Leslie calls out the colors for you to step up on or tap your foot on. She does not mirror cue in this one-I forget the order of the colors, but when she says "green" it will be another color for you. I'm not sure how well it would work on a regular step. Also, there is a very annoyingly over-enthusiastic background exerciser who is hard to ignore.

I think you'd get a better workout adapting "regular" Leslie workouts to your step. You could step on and off the step when she marches in place, step up onto the step and kick when she does kicks, etc.

I hope that helps-
Sherry

ETA : Here is a review for one of the workouts:

If you look in the review section under Leslie Sansone, they are the "walkblaster" workouts.

Thanks, Sherry. I couldn't remember the name of the ramp.

You are right, the color thing/non cuing is not the Leslie I love.

That's really all I needed to "hear."

The price was high which is why I didn't pick it up so I am glad I was able to restrain myself.

Ah yes, the odious April. And the camera moves around, so taping a piece of paper to the TV screen doesn't work.

However, I have a lot of gadgets, and I use the Ramp nearly every day. It makes lunges comfortable for me. I use it to modify Transfirmer workouts. I step up & down on it when I do regular Leslies when they walk forward & back.

Amazon has the Walkblaster VHS tapes and DVDs, under their individual names:
Slim Shape & Sculpt: Slim & Thin
" " " : Shape & Firm
" " " : Sculpt & Burn

Cynthia, thanks for the ideas. My ramp is covered with dust! I have most of Gin's workouts too....I really should dig it out and get some use out of it. I hate lunges, so using the ramp sounds like a great idea!

I liked the workouts and just always did purple when she said green, but I traded them because of the annoying participant.

I have these and never use the Leslie but do love the Ramp generally and I love Gin Miller's cardio express using the ramp. That workout is great to have for a fun little cardio if you aren't feeling all-out but want to do something and it has a fun factor for me.
I can't remember annoying background people. lol Now I have to go do the Leslies's!!
I think it is a good investment.

Yikes, I just got rid of my ramp and Gin DVDs - too much dust on them! Should I have kept them? This is why I have a problem giving away workout stuff!

That annoying background exerciser drives me nuts, too! I thought maybe I was overreacting to her. I still have the ramp and should use it more -- with the Gin Miller DVDs.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who had issues with the background exerciser.
BTW, anyone in the DFW area that is looking for a ramp, PM me. I got rid of most of the workouts but still have the ramp collecting dust.
