Alta - I skipped over that chapter too. Really dumb and unnecessary. I have a male co-worker who is so neat and clean that you could eat off his desk. Whenever I go in there, I feel self-loathing.

She tells you to wear shoes in the house??? Apparently she isn't worried about bringing outside ground germs into the main part of the house and doesn't want to strengthen her feet by going barefoot??

I live in MN. We definitely don't wear shoes into the house in the winter and track in snow.

I had never heard of FlyLady. For a while I was listening to some decluttering/organizing podcasts but kind of faded off bc baseball, horror stories and fitness podcasts are so much more interesting!

Not only does she tell you to wear shoes, you’re supposed to wear lace-up shoes. I live on the Gulf Coast. It’s way too hot for lace-up shoes right now.

Ugh. No way I could follow that advice! I am barefoot in the house as long as it's warm enough (unless I will be in the kitchen mmost of the day and then I wear shoes that have never been outside). In the winter I have to wear moccasins or slippers and I swear I feel my foot muscles weaken.

I did just go to her website and read a couple tips and habits. Okay, maybe I do need to spend some time browsing her site even though I won't be all in. I hate cleaning house but the agreement with hubby for quitting my job and not looking for a new one was that I would take care of the house. His mom always kept things very neat and clean and clutter free. My mom, not so much. Not that the house was dirty but we were a clutter family for sure and I'm like a mini hoarder. So I keep trying to find hacks that make the task less dread-inducing!

I've done Flylady before and liked it. I really like the app better than all the emails. There's a section in the app for her routines and I believe they can be modified for your own needs. I use it from time to time but am not consistent. However, I'm not consistent with a lot of things

. Another good website is www.cleanmama.net. She sells a few books and some cleaning products, but also has free printables of her routines on her website.

The App is totally free, and has no ads either.
It's editable to change chores & add new things too.
Definitely better than all the emails.

They're now 24, and both lift weights at the gym (though not as heavy as I do...yet). Those who CAN exercise well into their elder years often say "I just never stopped doing it, every day." To be able to say that, one needs to START doing it, EVERY DAY! To reduce the size of my butt, I need to reduce the size of my "But......"
