Thank you so much Eyefit, for posting this! And it is definitely not OT! I also have "issues" with the rebounder, and any other high impact move as far as that goes!

You're welcome superfit41! When I did those jumping jacks and had that epiphany I was like "I have to share this in case it helps anyone else!" lol

I also mentioned my incontinence issue to my doctor years ago after having the kids. This was before I started having IC related problems which started about 4 years ago. She recommended this surgical procedure where they were doing this mesh sling thing for the bladder. She even made the appointment in urology for me to check it out. I remember being very nervous about an invasive surgical procedure like that for my incontinence and just had this really uneasy feeling about it. I ended up cancelling the appointment. Lo and behold, within the last few years I've been seeing those late night lawyer commercials urging people to sue if they have had the "mesh sling" due to innumerable problems and unintended consequences relating to the procedure! I was SO relieved that I never went that route!

It's so frustrating to me that modern medicine almost always has the knee jerk reaction to either recommend surgery or pills for every ailment. If I had been counseled on something as simple as bladder training, I could have been on the right track to help with these symptoms long ago! I have literally had to research this stuff on the internet to get real and actual results. Medical care in this country is really in a sad state, imo.

To be fair I don't think it's just doctors pushing. Nearly EVER relative my husband and mother has would rather have surgery or take a pill than do PT or make lifestyle changes. Very frustrating.

For me, the doctors never pushed surgery or pills. I never had issues with leaking until after my sons were born and it just got worse over time. I did kegels, re-trained my bladder, wore pads, lost the weight, stopped step and running ... you name it.

After 19 years, I decided that I couldn't live with the leaking any longer and went to see a uro-gynecologist for a full work-up. I had surgery for a sub-urethral sling 15 months ago, and am able to function without wondering where the closest bathroom is. Talk about relief!
