Didn't realize this thread was so old. Hopefully it'll be as easy to diagnose and treat this time.

The hip might be related to the calf.
The last time I got an adjustment from my chiro (who is also my acupuncturist, and who has developed his own style of adjustements, combining chiropractic, trigger point therapy and a mish-most of several other things), he was adjusting my lower back and hips, and suddenly went to doing some pressure work (ouch!) on my calf. He said he wasn't getting my hips to do what he wanted because the trigger point in the calf was preventing it.

Yep. I'm sure it's all related. Although the calf thing has been gone for a long time, I'm sure both problems (calf and hips) stem from the same poor mechanics. I walk and run on my toes. I have very short tendons in my calves. When she was working on my calves, she also did some work on my thighs and hamstrings (not nearly as painful as the calf). I hoped to save some money by doing the foam roller and some stretches I got off YouTube, but I think I'm going to have to visit her again.

Nope. I was pain free during Insanity except on the days I added in running. I only did that about 3 times during the 60 days, so it was pretty obvious what was causing the problem. It's my running mechanics.
