Way Off Topic - Pizza

Granted I haven’t been to a pizza restaurant in a long time, but when I paid over $33.00 for a large 4-topping pizza tonight, I couldn’t believe it. Is this the norm now?

If it is a good pizza place that isn't a chain, yes that can be the norm. With these prices, it can help limit how often one eats pizza.

Not even in NJ lol! Wait, 4 toppings. I never get that many, so I'm not sure. A large, brick oven Margherita pie with grilled chicken is....$25? So maybe. My favorite place in NJ is not a chain, I don't believe, so yes. We rarely eat out for pizza, but when we do it's worth the 30 minute drive

I have never gotten four toppings, but if some of them were meat that definitely drives up the price I think a large plain pie here is about $14.00.

Bubbles, that sounds delicious!
Where do you go?
The owners of Marcello's in Bordentown are opening a pizza place in my town. I am eager to try it.

Just looked up my favorite pizza place and their prices. $19.25 for a large cheese pizza and $2.50 per topping. So yeah, 4 toppings would be $30 plus tax. And that's for regular crust, not deep dish!

Yikes! Are you in a big city? I live in a rural area in upstate NY. We alternate between two locally owned pizza parlors and a large (8-cut) pizza with 2 toppings from either one is about $17. Even if we added 2 more toppings, it wouldn't exceed $20.

I’m out in the country and this place is in a little town about 30 miles south of where I live. Toppings were veggies and I had a hard time finding the mushrooms and there was not an abundance of the other toppings.

Last time I got a family size pizza from a local pizza place (not a chain) it was $45. I was shocked. I think we got soda too but still.

Reading this thread is making me crave pizza! There is a local place, with high prices, but good pizza, a few miles from here. No, No, I am not going out to my car and I will eat leftovers tonight.
