Finished listening to The Ghost Bride by Yangsze Choo on audio and loved it. An entertaining spooky-but-not scary mystery that was perfect for fall, and the cultural elements about Chinese emigres living in 1890s Malaysia were really interesting. I want to watch the Netflix adaptation now.

Still working on Shogun...

Putting Mr. Mercedes on pause and listening to Magpie Murders by Anthony Horowitz. I saw the preview for this on PBS Masterpiece Mystery and it looks good. The series starts this Sunday (10/16) on PBS.

The trailer for Magpie Murders did look really good. Several of the actors will be playing dual roles, including the one who played Max in Vienna Blood. I'm looking forward to it.

I just finished Fairy Tale by Stephen King, which I enjoyed.

I also read Hush (Harriet Blue, 4) by James Patterson and half of Grandma Gatewood's Walk by Ben Montgomery.

I just started It's Better This Way by Debbie Macomber.

I recently finished This Tender Land by William Kent Krueger and liked it very much. I'm almost done now with Furiously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible Things by Jenny Lawson, which I have mixed feelings about. Some parts I love and some parts I have no interest in and just skip over.

I read Fever by Mary Beth Keane, a very interesting novel about Typhoid Mary that surprisingly (according to my research) contains many facts and actual events.

I also read The Fate of Katherine Carr by Thomas H. Cook. While it was an interesting story, I got a bit lost at some points and am not sure I fully grasp the ending so I plan on reading it again. I read reviews by others who have read the book as well and it seems I'm not the only one who would have read it twice.

I just finished All That Is Said by Anne Griffin. I checked it out of the library because I read Listening Still (which is her newer book) and loved them both. I enjoy her writing style. Her books are based in Ireland and and some of the "lingo" is unfamiliar but I can get past it.

I finished The Dutch House. I liked it, although I felt a bit like it didn't go anywhere - probably just me.

It still reminded me very much of Anne Rivers Siddons. I believe I have read all of her books.
