What exactly is a Classical Stretch Bootcamp?

After coming off of three months of intense weight work, my now heavier and bigger body is ready for some summer lightening up.

I've been focusing on Classical Stretch/Essentrics supplemented by short meditation/Kundalini Yoga segments.

Even in this short time (about a week), I'm liking the changes I see in the shape of my legs and arms, and there could even been some shifting in the waist. Even more, my body is just plain feeling great.

I walk when I can and am I also starting to toy with some very short HIIT cardio.

I've seen the term Classical Stretch Bootcamp used in the past, and I was curious about it requirements. It seems like people who have tried it like the outcome on different levels.

Is an episode a day, with occasional hour long workouts, for 30 days considered a Bootcamp. Or does CS Bootcamp require a minimum of an hour or hour and a half a day?

Interested in your thoughts of how my current routine compares with an actual Bootcamp and its vast outcomes.

Hi T,

Essentrics has put out "bootcamps" in the past and usually that is just a rotation that someone has written up. Sometimes it is just going through the newest season. I don't have any of the rotations.

You could make up your own bootcamp by alternating an all standing episode with floor and barre episodes. Or you could focus on getting your workouts to total an hour a day. I think "bootcamp" to most people probably means doing CS/Ess every day.

What has worked really well for me this past year is to do 3 one hour workouts each week alternating with shorter episodes. I've definitely slimmed down this past year. I think the one hour workouts are the ticket for "results"....in particular, the windmills.

Hi T -

(Just wondered what you've been working out with in the last three months - thanks!)

Hi Maria,

I was doing a lot of Kelly Coffey-Meyer, but also some Joyce Vedral and Jari Love. I was lifting as heavy as I could. Some exercises I was using up to 20 lb dumb bells.

Cheers!~

Ok here is one: http://www.essentrics.com/bootcamp_2014.pdf

ETA I didn't really like this one. It was like someone just listed all the dvds; no thought put into the rotation.

The one Donna posted is the best one they've done so far, IMO. I loved it! Lots of variety.

Cowfishpro, I'm just like you - when I do a daily CS/Essentrics my body feels wonderful!

Donna beat me to posting the "bootcamp". I printed it and kept it as well. I do wish they would do more of these rather than just the one a year in early January. I might have the one from January 2015 but not sure. If I do, I will post it.

I agree, if I do a CS/Essentrics first thing in the a.m. I feel great all day.

Thank you, ladies. Those rotations look quite doable with my allotted time for working out during the week.

Jackie, I like your suggestion of mixing in hour long workouts, too, but I can only do that on the weekends.

It's good to know that an episode or 30 minute segment is sufficient through the week until I can do longer episodes on the weekends.

Looking at Jackie's link post, it seem Class of 2012 is not chaptered. Is that correct? I like the looks of that one and am interested in acquiring it, but it would be a shame if it is not chaptered.
