New Paypal charges?

I have a personal account with Paypal and it is not set up to accept credit cards as payment. Account and bank transfer payments used to go through with no additional charge. Now I am being charged a fee on each & every transaction. I called to ask about this, and they said it is a new policy. For every transaction, either the buyer or the seller has to pay this fee. (It defaults to the seller unless you change it.) Does this make sense? I don't recall any notification stating that their terms were changing.

(None of these were ebay purchases.)

Thanks for the info! I have the same type of account and will have to check it out - I have not recieved any notification. Then again, if they sent me a message on ebay or on my account page somewhere, I would never know it since I don't go to either place regularly!

I didn't know this. I would think they would notify the people who have an account with them about this change.

I noticed this too. I am also set up to accept credit card purchases but my recent sales through yaya's I requested funded paypal only and I got hit with a nominal charge. This is very sneaky because I don't remember hearing anything from paypal about this.

I just noticed this too. I sold a five dollar workout at yaya's and paypal kept 45 cent. So does this "transaction fee" applies to both a personal and primier accounts? I knew that there were policy changes (received a notice in my email), but I didn't read them.

I think this has been happening for over a year on my account.

Yes this is a recent change. No getting around it if you sell anything/anywhere.

Hmm, I was sure they'd been hitting me with transaction fees for quite a bit now. It stinks, doesn't it?

Yea, I got stuck with the fee's a while ago when someone paid me a credit card. I was forced to up grade my account. It stinks because I hardly sell anything.

Starting June 3, those with a personal account are now being charged fee's too.
